Jimmy could rebound and play solid defense. I would take him on this team.

Grant has way more talented prospects to select from at Dayton that he ever had at Bama.

I don’t know about that. Retin Obasohan, Levi Randolph, Trevor Releford, Tony Mitchell, and JaMychal Green. Outside of Sexton, those are all better players than what Avery had. Grant just didn’t know how to promote his program and was unwilling to play the recruiting game. At Dayton he doesn’t have to worry about either of that. He can go for underrated talent and doesn’t have to worry about a top target getting bought out from under him.

I knew we’d hear his name again when we fired him, but he had to go. He’s one of those guys that is just better suited going the Mark Few route and building a mid-major into an elite program over time.

Alabama Turnovers Per 40 Minutes so far this season:

Herbert Jones 5.6 (3.7 Last Season)
Kira Lewis 4.8 (2.8)
John Petty 3.6 (2.8)
Jaylen Forbes 3.5
James Bolden 3.0
Jaden Shackleford 2.1

Galin Smith 4.9 (3.3)
Javian Davis 2.9
Alex Reese 1.8 (2.7)

Not illuminating stats since it's obvious that careless turnovers along with perimeter defense are the two "correctable" areas where this team has been very poor so far.

The stats do emphasize that the problem is team wide once you account for ball usage.

I suppose the silver lining is that these are just so high that you would think they have to improve.

It has to be historically bad.

His problem of shuffling his feet and getting traveling calls on seemingly half his touches in the lane seems to be a lot worse so far this season.
Frustrating since he's actually consistent with that baby hook shot if he doesn't travel.

I was also a bit surprised by Reese's very low turnover numbers. For all his other issues, he's really the only player on the team that has a turnover rate where it needs to be.

I guess Shack's numbers are pretty solid for a freshman guard but his issue hasn't been straight up turnovers as much as some ill-advised shot selection.

I have to think that Kira's turnover issues will have to improve a lot as the season goes on. To be our "only ball handler" as people say, his turnover rate isn't any better than the players we had worried so much about.

Yeah, I’m not sure why, but I’m rooting hard against them. I just don’t want them to be rewarded for their lazy arse hire of Juwan Howard. It annoys me for some reason.

Are any of y’all watching New Orleans vs LSU? I can’t tell them apart because New Orleans is wearing a light grey jersey. I don’t know how they were allowed to do that

I'm looking forward to Friday. Hoping Bolden is healthy and the USM game got him going. Need one more game out of Petty to believe it might can be consistent.

If we beat SFA, that could actually help turn our season around. This one is huge. Beating a team Duke lost to and getting to 4-4 would be nice

If we can get a consistent 15ppg from Petty then we might...might be able to get the ship turned around. We just have so many streaky players on this team. One or two who can be relied on to score points every game would make us so much better overall.

Petty has been an All or nothing player meaning if his shot is there he goes off otherwise he is a garbage point collector. If he stays on this year he should easily average over 20 a game. Plays hard and plays a lot. Would be something to see him get consistent.

It's early, but Penn is up 17-13 on the road vs Villanova.

Penn is a good basketball team. Watching them now and they are so smart. If they win the Ivy League they are gonna be a popular 12/5, 13/4 upset pick
