You don’t even see half the mistakes if you aren’t there in person.
Against USCe they'd walk two guys down to blitz on the weak side. No disguises because they thought they didn’t need to.
A HS QB is taught to read blitz and either adjust coverage, audible or hit a hot route behind the blitz.
He repeatedly didn’t see the blitz and didn’t adjust anything even with a helmet mic telling him what to do.
He’s absolutely broken mentally right now.

You don't know what the receiver would have done with the ball. Getting sacked you know.

No question about it. DeBoer is facing his first major challenge early in his tenure. It will be interesting to see what he does.

There's one play were Tennessee ran a zero blitz and Jalen Milroe didn't even recognize it. He took a sack!
Get the ball out quick.
Get the ball out quick.

That’s literally the QBs job. Dude, seriously?

We agree he shouldn’t have gotten sacked. But I don’t know how you look at that picture and blame Milroe for the sack. You can literally see the OL being a revolving door on a 3 man rush…that can’t happen. No QB thinks they have to throw the ball in 1.5 seconds on a 3 man rush, that’s not a failure of pocket awareness (although he’s had plenty of those in every game)

Wow, some of you guys clearly don’t understand QB/OL play. Pretty sure Greg even called out the OL on the call on that very play.

How anyone with a functioning brain could defend Milroe after yesterday is beyond comprehension. Only one of his family members would defend his shitty play at this point.

Him playing bad doesn’t make reasonable people have to blame him for other people’s mistakes. That’s a lot of what is wrong with society today. Blame him for his mistakes, not others

He stuck around because he'd have had to sit a year if he transferred and Oklahoma still had Kyler Murray. There was no benefit to transferring before he graduated.
He still prepared at an elite level and was by all accounts a tremendous leader and teammate even as a backup. Hurts’ character brought Saban to tears after the SEC Championship game in 2018.

I’m not convinced Milroe has the ability to recognize it’s a three man or any other number man rush. The basis of your argument is faulty because you assume he can diagnose a defense, but he can’t.

Sad part is even when Milroe saw the open guys he was so fricking inaccurate with the football.

He’s not smart. Let’s just tell it for what it is. He makes the same mistakes that he was making two years ago when he had to play. Yesterday was like the Texas game last year. Threw it right to the defenders on his picks. Can’t make reads.

He’s Jalen Hurts in 2017.
At least Hurts was safe with the football. He threw 1 pick all year. He was just way too safe with the ball and made no big plays through the air. And he was much more effective runner.

He had about a 50 yd TD pass in the opener vs Southern Cal.

Yeah done with him
The level at which has has regressed the last two weeks? He is mentally finished and that means he can't even at least run.
Every pass sailed high. EVERY PASS.
Done. We need KDB to show some balls and bench his arse so we can try to finish the season 10-2

True. I’m giving Milroe way too much credit by comparing him to Hurts. I still can’t believe that some of the ESPN commentators were saying that Milroe would be in the running for the first overall pick in the draft. lulz

He certainly can’t recognize blitzes, but the basis of my argument is that the OL has to give the QB at least 3 seconds on a 3 man rush 100 times out of 100. They failed miserably on that play. We have plenty to blame on Milroe, like the OP, but let’s not blame him for other’s failures.

I’ve been a defender of his. Still think he is a pretty good quarterback overall. But I hope we open the competition back up

That was 2016. Towards the end of 2016 and all of 2017 he played too safe. I was exaggerating when I said NO plays but he did have a few. It’s just he was too afraid to take too many risks.
Milroe at this point takes too many risks and is flat out missing the easier options available whether it be an open running lane (Hurts would never miss that) or open receivers.
