re: True or false, alot of the holes Indiana backs shot through would have stiffled our backs.

It’s the running scheme. Fix that and we are way better off

Indiana definitely got some back shots in yesterday.

I agree the schem sucks but I think the coaching does too.
Truth is, we are woefully short on talent at rb. And the ones that play haven’t gotten better either

Think about that. Making good money playing for San Fran and he tells Mike he just doesn't love it anymore. Walks away.

Man, I thoroughly disagree. Robinson was an underrated back for us, and he is quicker, has better vision, and way harder to tackle than anyone we had on our roster in 2025. There is a reason he was an NFL starter in his first 3 seasons(after getting shot in his knee and his arse right before his rookie season.) Now he backs up one the best RBs in the NFL.

There are some Bama fans in denial that the RBs are just not that good. The run blocking is not good but the RBs lack vision and explosive quickness. They also are poor after contact. They go down right away.

Our line sucks but every time I saw our runningbacks in space they got tackled 1-1 by a corner or safety. They're just horrible players talent wise. It sucks but it is what it is. They were misevaluated

There’s not a shot in hell one of Jam, Riley, Or Hill isn’t equivalent to Brian Robinson and his cement shoe feet. Him and Hill are mirror images of each other.

Guy has stuck in the NFL for multiple seasons. If either of those three make more than a practice squad I’ll eat my damn hat. No way.

He’s probably the worst starting back we’ve put in the NFL since Glen Coffee

And yet he’s still better than Hill and Jam.

Brian Robinson was probably the worst RB to start at Alabama in 25 years. His years was the start of the decline

Man we would be golden if we had a Brian Robinson caliber player as a RB. He was still really damn good in 2021 as a starter

Are you shitting me? He ran for 1350 despite having a few games where he was severely limited and at least one game where he didn't even play.

He was starting in the NFL until this season where he's the 2nd back behind CMC in the best offense in the NFL.

B-Rob was an absolute dog who had burst speed and power. If we had a player like him on our last two teams, he'd probably added one more win to each team's overall record.

We haven't had a HS recruit at tailback turn out like B-Rob since he went pro.

BRob didnt have burst or speed at all… he cut weight for the combine and only hit a 4.53 on the 40. He averaged 4 YPC in conference play, a full yard drop from the prior year and two from the next. He was a great back for pass protection but he wasn’t shifty to the point you actively wanted to avoid using him in the receiving game

If you guys are going to sit there and tell me three four stars and three five stars are all “bad running backs”, then you’re smoking some copium. Especially with the hit rate on recruiting services on running backs, they’re not hard to scout.

“Daniel Hill is miles ahead of Jam” - gets the same yards as Jam. “AK dear is the second coming of Jesus” - Struggles behind the line against Georgia and can’t break the rotation. Kevin Riley? Same thing as those two.

None of these backs can run behind this line. We are averaging -1 yards before contact, guys don’t even have the ability to get up to speed before a crashing linebacker hits them and if they do it’s because they’re going vertical on toss plays which is useless if they’re getting hit from the right or left…

Jam is sitting a full yard behind last (4.8) season and with Saban he was at 5.6. That tells you there’s something massively wrong other than the back

I mean, burst speed I am talking about is how he'd get through a hole. Yeah, he did not have home run hitter speed. I think he was a very good back for us in 2021. He was the whole running game because that 2021 OL was not very good at all. That team began the new UA tradition of being very poor along the LOS.

Glen Coffee was damn good.

Give me 2008's Glen Coffee running behind Andre Smith, Antoine Caldwell, and Mike Johnson, and I'll take John Parker Wilson, and this team would be playing next weekend.

I’m sorry, did you actually say Formby is good? I have to question how bad his backup is.

Our OL play was as bad as I’ve ever seen. We came off the ball slow. When Indiana’s OL was run blocking they came off the ball fast with purpose. They reacted well to switches.

We don’t. Is it because the scheme is too much for them? Maybe?
