Wouldn't surprise me if we looked like AU in a few years or State last season
Based on what?
Bama is behind only UK and UF in SEC play the last three seasons.
As long as Grant is at Bama they will never be as bad as MSU or AU were this last season.

I think the team will be pretty similar to last year. Probably be a bubble team again but better SoS might get us in
Hard for me to have any confidence in this team anymore. Hope you are right, but scared of us being just a bubble team every year that gets bounced in the first game. That will be just good enough for us not to have to try to improve anything.

And if we miss the tournament Grant is gone?
Yeah, I would think so.
With this roster and the schedule we have next season, I don't really see Grant being around much longer.
Will be a bubble team again but probably on the inside this time.
Even without making tourney, Bama will still do good enough to keep Grant around.

Did you miss the part last year where Grant LOST to Auburn?

I really doubt that. We lost one of out best players, our only post presence, and a kid with a lot of athleticism who could have made big leaps this year. Going to be really hard to be a bubble team with only 9 players.

2 of whom are true freshman and 2 of whom are Carl and Jacobs.
Jimmie Taylor is going to have to be Anthony Davis lite on defense for us to not get completely dominated inside by teams with semi-competent bigs.

Disagree with all of this

We lost Moose and Pollard in the post but add Carl, Taylor, and Hale. That's a definite upgrade IMO
In the backcourt, we lose Lacey and Steele but gain Key. That's a downgrade but Retin was taking some of Lacey's minutes late in the year
The really big difference between last year and this year is that we should have enough big men to play a true 4 and 5 at the same time without someone playing out of position. That makes a big difference when it comes to match-ups

No you're right. Shitty teams with 9 kids on scholarship make the tournament all the time.

Immediately at the end of the season...we were looking at Bama really challenging UK & UF with experience & talent to win the SEC....to being middle of the pack yet again. same ole shite

Is that the only game you remember?
Grant won as many SEC games this year as AU has one the last three years, total.

I think we will be a bubble team again as well. We still have good players 1-3 positions, but like Robot said, teams with good bigs will kill us just like last year.

Yeah and I have less than zero confidence in Pujol's ability to mold Taylor's physical gifts into a high quality basketball player. We are going to be fricking awful inside.

and even that's an understatement.
