If a defender pressures Norris in the open court, he's all but guaranteed to make a panicked turnover. That's his weakest area for sure.

Seeing our team compete like this without Hale and Ingram makes me think we can be a top 20 type team next year when we add our freshmen, Dazon back, and King as well. Maybe AJ Jr can even provide some minutes. Am I crazy for that?

No you are not. Norris is a liability for the most part when on the court. He adds hustle and a little defense, but not very much on offense. With what we have coming back and our recruiting class, we can be a sweet 16 team easily. We definitely need to land a big man though.

Not at all. Tbh, that's almost what I am expecting at this point.

And it is going to be fricking glorious when it happens.

I disagree. I don't like to see him with the ball and getting pressured. But, he's one of those hard-nosed guys that every team needs. He hustles, plays good D, and has to be defended when he's on the perimeter. He's a valuable player.

Not crazy at all!

Really was impressed with the way the team hung in there when Oregon went on their second half run. Oregon is a good team, so there's no shame in losing a tough game against them. Someone else said it, but that alone is a huge improvement over Grant's teams (moral victory).

Retin played poorly and making me feel like a fool for championing him

I was wondering this, so thanks for posting. This emphasizes just how important Retin is to this team. Granted Coleman did pick up a lot of his slack last night, but if Coleman has what's been his regular lackluster play this year, we get blown out.

Why? He's a very valuable part of this team.

Retin's not going to play well when he can't use his athleticism to full advantage and Oregon did a great job taking that away from him. I guess you could say he's the anti-Norris. When things get frantic, Retin will flourish but when forced into a half court set piece game he is going to struggle.

This! Coaches are going to scheme against a team's strong points. They did a good job taking away a lot of OB wanted to do.

Earlier in this thread I said that I liked his game better than Releford's (I still stand by this hot take).

Had a great time at the game last night. There was a large showing from Bama fans, and that was nice to see. Oregon did a great job of slowing us down in the second half, and they didn't miss but a handful of shots in the second half. It was an entertaining game.

Hell no. We'll have a solid backcourt, great depth, and better shooting team. Hopefully we can have a solid inside presence. But it's not outlandish to say the team next year can make the sweet 16. More so if we make the tourney this year.

Man you look at the talent level of this team...you factor in the injuries as well..and look at our record and how we are playing.

This team looks very well coached.

It seemed like Oregon just couldn't miss a shot in the second half. Every open look was made. That's tough to beat.

I'm really happy with how our season has played out.

Oregon had about a 1000 follow ups it seems like though. No idea how they continuously let that happen and allow Oregon to get 2nd chance opportunities

Yeah you look at the sheer size we'll have next year and the talent- that team will have the opportunity to be very good. AJ has blown me away with how good a job we've done so far this year. Just imagine him with his guys in there and the coaching job he's done this year so far. We only have one guy who starts this year who will probably start next year (excluding Dazon since he's hurt).

PG- Dazon 6' 5"
G- T-Ferg 6' 7"
F- Nick King 6' 7"
F- Braxton Key 6' 8"
C- Jimmie Taylor 6' 10"

That's some size there. Could see Shannon Hale starting over Key. But that's some talent and most teams could match that backcourt size.

And if we can just add one post player in the spring signing period, that'll be great length and depth at every position.
