The start of 2nd half doomed them.

We probably win that game if Hale plays.

Frustrating 2nd half. Obasahan played very poorly. Up 12 by half and get outscored 28-2 out of the gates. Good news was Taylor and Coleman played good for the 2nd straight game.

What killed Bama was a poor open shots, bad ball handling, and going 13-20 from the charity strip.

Probably, but Obasahan shouldn't have been that bad. Down 2 of our best players, he knows he is going to be the go-to guy. Thankfully Coleman stepped up, but Obasahan missed critical FTs that would have put us in better position and had a critical turnover when he had Taylor wide open for the layup.

Retin playing terrible and us being brain dead the first 8 minutes of the second half doomed us. We are playing good basketball considering the lack of true talent we have on this team and the fact our 2nd and 3rd best players were out. I can't be too upset about this loss but it still hurts anyways.

Yeah this one hurts, which means Avery is doing something right. Can't be too upset though. Hale and Ingram out, Oregon being a great team, Obasahan playing off, and Alabama only loses by 3. Would have been a great win, but certainly not a bad loss.

I think we should have played a zone in the second half

In Bama's 3 losses Retin is 3-25 with 14 total points

That's not ideal.

All this. I put Bama's chances without Hale at roughly 0%.

Not only did they lead at half, they survived an Oregon run that would have caused a lot of other teams to fold and came back with a chance to win.

Tough loss, but still, I'm very happy with what I've seen so far this year. None of us expected to be GREAT this year, and we aren't. But, it sure is nice to see the coaching. And some of the players are stepping up and playing well also. Just bring me the 'CRUITS!

Should CAJ play more games in B'ham next year? With the crowd and atmosphere being as good as it was last night, playing a few more in B'ham may not be a bad idea.

Tough loss, but something weird happened in the 2nd half. In the Grant era, after we'd blow a good lead the team would just collapse and look disinterested with no form or scheme especially on offense.

That didn't happen last night. I honestly though we had a shot to win all the way to the last possession.

That in and of itself is a stark improvement over recent past teams.

The talent disparity was on full display in the 2nd half. We don't have the post game we need right now. Our only hope in the 2nd half was them being cold

Absolutely. Attendance was announced at over 14k. On top of that, players and people on the radio talking about what a great atmosphere it was and how loud. Very nice venue in Bham.

This place is loud. Weird having a crowd be so into an Alabama basketball game.

Marq Burnett – ?@Marq_Burnett
Avery Johnson said the atmosphere in the BJCC "felt like the Final Four in here tonight."

Announced attendance is 14,508

I think that would have helped limit the second chance opportunities and all the follow ups Oregon had, but I don't think we can play zone against a team like Oregon. They're a very solid perimeter team and a guy like Brooks last night just completely took over.

first fuul game ive gotten to watch. the crowd seemed very loud on tv. very pleasant surprise. another pleasant surprise was the team didnt wither away in the 2nd half onslaught by oregon. needed retin in a bad way but oh well. loving the improvement. looking forward to more coleman 3's and just general excitement on the court.

Norris played alright. Certainly he had some bad moments, but he did well on the defensive side and made some critical 3s. He still missed too many open shots and had bad turnovers.
