Avery needs to rein Coleman in a little bit.

Big time. He needs to distribute the ball more. Draw the defense and kick it out to shooters. He can push the ball quickly, but being turnover prone & his poor shot selection kills us.

Same here. I think this offense plays to his strengths a little better. Also, I believe he's becoming more patient letting the game come to him instead of forcing it.

Dazon has played very well thus far imo

Best player on the team imo. Sure he has his share of bonehead plays, but taking into account him being a freshman, we couldn't ask for more. He swings the ball quickly, looks for open players, hits the glass, and typically makes good decisions with the ball. Will be a huge loss if he's out. And honestly, I just don't see Coleman picking up enough slack to make up for his absence.

Retin is Retin. You know what to expect from him game to game. He gives 100 on both ends of the court, sometimes to a fault (drives too deep resulting in charges), but you can't question his passion. I love the post up plays we've seen from CAJ in mismatch situations with Obasohan.

As for he big guys, Taylor is simply a space eating defender. I just haven't seen a ton of improvement from him offensively. It's clear that Kessens is our best scoring threat down low. Hall is raw but seems to be progressing nicely. I can see him building confidence. I don't expect him to be a real threat offensively, but we sure can use his rebounding, imo he's 2nd best on the team behind Dazon.

Shooter wise:

1) Edwards (set shooter)

2) Riley

3) Hale

4) Ingram

I too am happy at where we are. We have not deviated from what CAJ wants to implement offensively, and I believe the more games we get under our belt the better the team will respond in respect to what our offensive identity is.
With that said, the biggest surprise to me from a team aspect is our defense. We haven't give up on being good defensively, even though we are running more of a secondary break resulting in 10 or so more possessions a game.

Ingram officially out for the season with a broken foot.

Will be able to be medically redshirted though.

Coleman is about to go off for 25 against Clemson. It's time for him to find his shot.

Everything about this is good stuff

I'm not writing the season off with the loss of Dazon. I still think we have an outside shot at an NIT bid if everyone else can stay healthy.

Someone has to step up rebounding wise. We are getting beat almost every game on the back boards and giving up 2nd chance opportunities.

I agree about Coleman. His jump shots are terrible and he's way to aggressive when shooting. Let him drive to the lane, then dish it out to a man on the perimeter.

Well, this sucks. I like Dazon a lot. I guess we'll see how the team handles the loss.

Welp, Coleman is going to be given plenty of opportunity to prove himself. Hopefully he proves the hype I had of him coming out of high school right.

Coleman had a very nice drive & dish pass he did in the southern miss game. I wish he would do that more often.
