Why didn't we attack Ware when he got back in the game?
Been wondering the same thing all half.
What a devastating loss. They're without one of their best players, at home, riding a 5 game win streak. Played more than well enough to win if we hit a few more shots and our free throws.

This is a disappointing way to get bounced.

I hate to say it, but it seems as though Lunardi was right

Can someone tell me why we walked the ball up the court almost every time in the second half? I love Avery Johnson don't get me wrong. Great coach but does anyone else think pushing the tempo would have helped today?

Yep. I don't think we can make the tourney now.

What a fricking joke. Now we're out of the tournament. Edwards was garbage today, dude looked like he had no desire to be on the court. Just pathetic.
I think Avery needs to get Ware to sign the bat today. He destroyed us whenever he was on the court.

When we had them in foul trouble I think we should have

He did the same thing against us in Starkville.

Bama basketball back to being Bama basketball. Worst loss of the season at the worst time. Bye bye NCAA tournament. Maybe Bama can get a 1 seed in the NIT. Might win some games in the NIT, would have been one and done in the NCAA Tourny anyway.

Oh well, kick to the nuts loss but we weren't much more talented than State. It is what it is.

I'm not sure I can fault them not running the floor. The refs were terribly inconsistent. Changing our game plan probably would have resulted in more fouls.

We lost the game every which way. Offense,Defense And coaching.

Terrible game. Really sucks to have played like that after playing some great basketball these past few weeks.

That was fricking pathetic. Good coaching for the first 36 minites, shite coaching the last 4. For every positive I can think of 10 negatives. Retin was good except for when it counted. Riley, Coleman, and Edwards may as well have stayed in bed. All of their Forwards had at least 3 fouls for most of the second half and we decided to let them stay in the game. Edwards and Riley shouldn't touch the ball unless they are rebounding or just to catch and shoot. Truly an embarrassing perfoemance. Also just saw that Stingray fricker in the parking lot.

I'm not blaming the refs for the loss, but the refs seemed to think Miss St was the home team the way they were calling the game the first 3/4ths of it.

They made a few bad calls, but they called it pretty evenly.

The refs were pathetic and we were pathetic. We looked out of sorts for some reason. I don't know if we didn't prepare or what it was. Looked like we woke up, put some shoes on and started playing.

I mean it sucks, but it wasn't that bad, we just missed a ton of open shots. Sometimes they're falling for you, sometimes they're not. We hit just a couple of those open 3's we missed, and a few of the free throws and we win easily. Miss State had a really good defensive game plan and executed it, and we still got a lot of good looks.
I question us not going at Ware whenever he was in the game with 4 fouls, but some of that may have just been the defense they were playing. I noticed they had him outside trapping Retin a bunch, even with 4 fouls. Gutsy call by Howland that paid off.
