Where did you see that Diante Wood is likely committing to Auburn?
Been the smoke behind a ton of beat writers. He has publicly kept Auburn his #1 for over 6 months now. Chad Dollar/Chuck Person have been recruiting him real hard and he likes Auburn
For Bagley, he is an arizona St legacy and has Zona right there too. Hard to imagine he leaves the state for anyone not at the mountaintop

quote:Actually, fundamentals are worse in the NBA than anywhere else. It's digressed into a one-on-one league. The really good college teams(with excellent coaches) seem to execute them much better than anybody in the states, but the international teams are the most well taught...go figure.
I bet it's even worse with Avery. He came from the pros, and they already know everything. I'm sure he is still trying to adjust to teaching basic fundamentals.

NBA has almost totally shifted away from this in the analytic era.
The Iso Joe offensive era is a thing of the past. The Spurs system and varistions of it has taken over the league.
No good teams anymore rely on isolation.

Tell that to Golden State.

Golden State leads the NBA in Assists Per game by 6 full assists. They have an assist % of 70.8%, meaning almost 3/4 of their baskets come off of assists. That's the polar opposite of iso hero ball.
Just about the only teams that do a lot of iso stuff left are the Raptors, Knicks and Bulls, and the Knicks and Bulls are dysfunctional disasters, while the Raptors only do it because they have Lowry and Derozan.

You're probably right, but I have a hard time grasping the concept of running a play for a 25-30 jump shot....but it's obviously successful.
Damn those guys can shoot the ball!

If I were making decisions that wouldn't give me the warm and fuzzies. 1 in past 8 years. Add an inch in height and there are only a few more. Plus we're expecting 3 PGs taken in lottery this year. Not sure the need for PG will be as strong the year after. Meanwhile add a year and look at the success rate. It's only sensible to play two years of college ball. To say he's a disappointment if he's not a one and done is asinine. I want the kid to be picked in the lottery. If he can do that year 1 great. But chances of him doing that favor leaving after year 2. With that said there are a lot of weak starting PG in the NBA now. Several of the old guards are getting long in the tooth too. That might be a plus for him.

The simple math explanation may help
45% 3FG% = 1.35 pts/shot. The equivalent 2FG% is 67.5%
When the defense is forced to respond and defend the 3, it completely exposes them to inside games/driving and removes help side D who are out defending the 3
It is like the idea of passing to set up the run. Except for that fact that it actually works and makes sense

Anyone else nervous about tonight? It's at Mizzou and they have a 2 game win streak at home after beating Arkansas and Vandy.
Posted on 2/15/17 at 12:35 pm to Bamafan15
We need to be nervous playing against anybody. Nobody can say what we are going to do. FT's + TO + FG's as poorly as we do here consistently means we can lose any game.

It's Bama basketball, I'm always nervous
. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we blew this game.
Posted on 2/15/17 at 12:48 pm to Bamafan15
No need to be nervous. This is the exact kind of game Bama basketball blows. Just except it, and hope for the NIT.
**yes, I'm still pissed over losing to UK because we can't shoot a shot where we are allowed to take our time, dribble as many times as we want, AND THEY CAN'T GUARD YOU!!** also known as a Free Throw.

I'm mad we lost to UK too. They played about as bad as possible and we still lost

No reason to be nervous when failure is assured
