Yeah I posted that after I finally found the link lol.

Sherrell McMillan from InsideCarolina posted “The Stevenson family told us there wouldn't be an announcement today.”

This is why I hate recruiting lol. It’s never 100% set. Nelson was supposed to commit a week ago and still hasn’t officially. If not for Tipton leaking it, we still wouldn’t know.

Had a weird feeling about Jarin too. Anytime you see someone say they’re “likely” gonna commit in a certain timeframe, you can about pencil in that it’s not gonna happen.

Grant Nelson situation is different...I think we just got to wait on everything being cleared...so he can officially commit.

I don't know what Jarin Stevenson is waiting on...it could be to see if he can reclassify I guess but who knows.

He can for sure reclassify. He is a very good student.

true. I just don’t get why he’d tell Tipton “I’m committing Sunday or Monday” if there was any doubt his schoolwork was done. Maybe he didn’t know…but this late in the process you’d think he’d have some sort of idea. Could be wrong tho.

And someone I was talking to the other day (just a fan) was saying Jarin just seems lost on what he wants to do. One minute it’s Bama, one minute UNC, speculation on why UVA was randomly included, one day you hear he’s staying ‘24 and then the next day he’s reclassifying. He truly just may not know what he wants to do yet idk.

This year's portal has caused a lot of blue balls. So damn close from going from full of holes to a balanced, highly competitive roster. But nope. The portal is going to edge you just for fun.

It could be a head vs heart situation. He lives less then 30 minutes from Chapel Hill, and probably grew up a big UNC fan. Oats has had a lot of success, winning and putting guys into the league. We also run an up tempo system that similar to the NBA. For a recruit that has pro aspirations, there's a reason we are even in this thing.

Imagine a 5 star out of Birmingham with a parent that played at Bama, you could see how hard it would be to not go to Bama, even if they fit in better somewhere else.

I sure hope we get him. It would be a huge difference in next year's versatility and depth. Our lineup would go from 4 Guard Boogaloo to a serious contender with him and Nelson.

Although to be honest, I still wanna see 4 Guard Boogaloo, with Griffin playing the 4 spot. That would be fun to see. Maybe even go 5 guard. It'd be like am and1 tour on offense.

I know the point you’re making and I agree completely, but I laughed when I read this bc it reminded me of how much pain we used to go through when the exact opposite of that used to happen…guys like Watford, Cousins, etc growing up in the state and then going elsewhere lol.

My dad died a few weeks back.

I was thinking about it and remembered the last Ala-Aub contest we ever saw was the comeback from 17 down at Coleman to win the regular season title. I will not forget that night anytime soon for those 2 reasons. We were tired but on cloud 9 the whole way home. Happy Fathers Day!!

Saw on Twitter where Nelson was actually having to take a summer class or two. So may be another month or so before anything is official.

Yep, and now we're doing it to UNC. The bluest of blue bloods. Even with NIL involved. As much doom and gloom that's been around here the last couple of months (me included), it's pretty funny to see the position we're in. You'd think we were having West Virginia problems. I blame the Bama basketball fan PTSD we have. That shite runs deep if you've been around the last couple decades.

Huggins has a problem and needs to seek treatment. I’m gonna miss his antics from the bench. At times he was Bobby Knight lite. But glad we won’t have to face a Huggins coached team.

every time there’s even a small bit of negativity surrounding the program, I’m like “here we go again” bc I immediately assume the absolute worst as if it’s the post-Wimp/pre-Oats era

Never thought sitting at the BJCC that I was watching Huggins coach his final game at WVU and maybe ever.

From the Twitter group. Don’t know if it’s reliable. But at this point, it’s about the only thing that makes sense.
