Me either. Maybe we tried and he immediately shut us down, because it doesn't make sense for us to not have even kicked the tires on him imo.

I think if Ellis adds more to his offensive game like creating for his self then he can be a first rounder so he's really debating on whether to go or not! (My Thoughts on what he's thinking)

JD will test the waters and I think he will shoot up the draft boards off of potential alone so ultimately he stays in.

JQ is up in the air for me because if he comes back...I think late January is when he would be ready but the questions would be is...

Will his knee hold up?

How effective would he be then?

Does he risk playing a few months after his knee injury?

I really feel for him because honestly he's in a awkward situation.

Feels like it's even more awkward for Oats to me. What are the odds that JQ comes back, rehabs and practices with the team and all that, but doesn't actually play in any games and then heads to the draft after next season? That would basically waste a scholarship this year and would be extremely disappointing if i'm being honest.

I think JQ would be ready by SEC play (it would be 9 months after surgery)and wouldn’t be depended on as much with Sears and Bradley there so if he can find his shot like 21 season he can be a Nice 2. I would take him back.

That's my thoughts as well and as for mistaken...with the way JQ plays shoot he will need that knee right at 90 percent.

I don't see him recovering that quickly. His game is predicated 100% on his ability to stop and start and change direction suddenly. It can take a while to get that back after a knee surgery. The concern is that he just never gets comfortable on it until next summer or fall and comes back to not even play while taking up a scholarship.

Herb locking it down so far tonight. Man, we really missed him this last season. More than I could have ever imagined. He looks every bit a future DPOY though. Great to see him thriving in NOLA.

I hope we can come up with some kind a solution where JQ still can get the medical treatment he needs if he happens to move forward.

Me too. Love JQ and I hate all the BS he's has to go through during his college career. Just hope it doesn't cost a scholarship if he isn't able to actually suit up and contribute next year.

I feel the same way. I believe he’s done at Bama

Can’t we get him a medical hardship scholarship like Saban has done with some of the football players? It let them complete their degree without counting toward roster numbers.

This may be a real unpopular opinion so flame away but do we really want JQ back? Some of the issues we had last year at least circumstantially point to him as being part of the problem. We’ve all seen him choke when a crucial free throw would make a difference and his overall inconsistency last season was a problem. He was terrible from 3 pt land, had more turnovers than our freshman JD, was the worst rebounder among the regulars, didn’t have many steals, and only seemed to make a difference as the sixth man, coming off the bench. I don’t say those things out of malice either; I don’t dislike the kid, but aside from somehow being the number 2 scorer on the team, he didn’t stand out at anything positive. That may be more of an indictment of our offensive woes last season than anything else.

I’m ready to thank the kid for his contribution, get him a medical hardship, let him finish his degree and move on.

I hope we can do something for him regardless of what his decision maybe because I don't believe in just throwing a kid to the side.

If he wasn't asked to lead...I think he would of had a better season!

JQ played hard for us and he got the ship turned around so because of his contributions along with many other individuals we are looking at a different STANDARD here for Alabama Basketball!

I don't know why he couldn't but not if he intended to return to play once he's fully ready. Once you have a player go on the Medical scholly then they are done unless you held a scholly open the entire time said player was on a medical deal.

Well the 24th is the date to declare, so I imagine we hear something on JD and Keon soon. If they don’t get an agent, the deadline to withdraw is June 1 I think

That Scott Whittle guy (Mark Sears's AAU coach) seems to be hinting at something on Twitter. I would assume it's probably about Oquendo or hinting at Kobe Brown entering the portal (he was on his list of guys he tweeted out a few weeks ago for Alabama). Anyone else have any other ideas of what he could be hinting at?
