I'll go on record as stating that the standard deviations on Llewellyn's 3P% and FT% scare me. His FR, SO, & JU 3P% was 25%, 31%, 39%. FT% was 58%, 78%, 70%. Our best shooters recently (Shack, Petty, Ellis) have been remarkably consistent shooting the ball year over year. JQ's 20-21 season was better, but look what we got from him this past year.

Form looks pretty good to me.
Especially when you consider he's 6'10". Like I said the other day, he's undervalued in a class that features 2 5*s and another borderline 5*, but there's a ton of upside there.

BOL talk is that Llewelyn is a take and that he is very interested in coming here, but that theres a name we’re waiting on to hit the portal that’s a guard and the interest will be mutual immediately.
Has to be Mark Sears

That’s what happens when you shoot at such a high volume

BREAKING: All second team AAC guard Tristen Newton has entered the transfer portal.
The 6’5” sophomore averaged 17.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5 assists and shot 44% from the field for East Carolina this past season.
Anybody know anything about this guy?

That's why they're considered our best shooters recently. JQ would have been in that conversation if it weren't for this year. Llewellyn also improved from three each year. Sometimes it just takes guys some time to get comfortable.
Having said that, Llewellyn is one of those guys I take for depth. Not as a guy to run the offense through.

We're on a call with Alabama signee Brandon Miller from the McDonald's All American Game and he said he just got off a call with the coaching staff and Jaelin Llewellyn from the visit. He said it sounded like he was really enjoying it. Looks like the staff is leaning on Miller and Jaden Bradley to help continuing to build this class. Will have a full story up in a bit.

Not sure I'd classify him as a "guard"

Looks like a damn good point guard just strictly based on numbers. Very similar numbers year over year to Mark Sears (but 4 inches taller).
Newton vs Tulane (32 pts)
Watch his passing and vision. Really good.
Tristen Newton (ECU) (6-5, scoring PG)

Oh wow, all of that does look pretty intriguing. Wonder if we'll reach out.

Not a great 3PT shooter but guys who consistently shoot FTs that well usually can be. I'd guess his yearly improvement in making shots at the rim is due to getting bigger and stronger. His passing is great - both in the open floor and in the half court. Like, really good.
I'd guess he'll get a lot of interest.

Andre Curbelo just hit the portal
Would take immediately but he’s probably looking for a bigger role, But I don’t know. He could get a lot of mins here if we chased him

Sign me up. I'd take him over Sears because of his length and defensive ability (well at least how it looked in that video), but obviously Sears would likely be an easier pull.

I dunno, he seems straight out of 2021 Alabama. Every play is entertaining - either something incredible or something absolutely horrid
Man, he was even worse this year than I thought.
31.7 Assist Rate
26.7 Turnover Rate
37% 2PT
18% 3PT
34.9 eFG% (good lawd)
82.1 Offensive Rating
4.8 Fouls per 40 minutes
