I see your point, but this is crazy.

For comparison - assuming the game notes are correct, Alabama had taken 56 total charges prior to last season's NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen game.

Difference is herb actually played defense... He didnt flop or slide under people. Big difference

They just gave Chet a foul which I don't think it was much

Yep amazing how they get away with playing prison ball.

Herb more often than not drew some legit charges. A lot of them were bullshite, but for the most part his attempts to draw a charge were legit. He'd set up and hang in there waiting on the contact. These "charges" where guys jump out in front of the ball handler and have their feet for like one second, especially when the ball handler is in the paint and going up to score, are horseshite and refs need to start calling them blocks, which is what they are.

Not to mention that plays like that can be somewhat dangerous for the offensive player as well.

Gonzaga is currently averaging 0.77 points per possession.
It would be the third-worst mark by the Bulldogs since 2002. Only 0.57 vs. Duke on 12/19/09 and 0.76 vs. Washington State on 12/5/07 are lower.
quote:
Gonzaga is also winless when held to lower than 0.85 points per possession over the last 20 years.

Gonna be back to back Elite 8’s. That’s pretty impressive for Musselman in three seasons

Watching these Gonzaga-Arkansas and Michigan-Villanova games, and the way the two games have been officiated (one is a wrestling match, one is getting hit with every little bit of contact), it’s clear there is just no consistency right now in collegiate officiating. It’s crazy.
quote:
Like, if you’re coaching a game, it’s a literal lottery what kind of game you’re entering. Are you going to allowed to make physical contact? Is it going to be a wrestling match? Charges rewarded? Freedom of movement on perimeter? Just feel like I have no idea game to game.

The two fouls on Chet Holmgren in the first half were good calls. They were so good you could see he was pissed at himself walking off the floor.
The three in the second half were embarrassing calls.
Then watch this Michigan-Villanova game where dudes are getting tackled lol

Why is Doug Shows in the S16 anyway? He's always been terrible, even worse than Pat Adams.

It's sad honestly. Your trying to watch a top five draft pick play but he get hit with two bogus foul calls to put him out the game c'mon man!

Terrible horseshite call. Should havea been an and 1 and flagrant. This crew should be embarrassed

JD Notae's 29 field-goal attempts are the most in an NCAA Tournament game since BYU's Jimmer Fredette took 29 against Florida in the 2011 Sweet 16.
