Shack improved his drives each season. Though he still has a tendency to get his pocket picked, the percentage of his "hero" drives early in the shot clock went way down. Many of those this year were when we were stalled on offense later in the clock. Not to say there weren't still some, but, not nearly as many.
Oats really needs to work on driving in general a lot more in practices.
I know he values the percentages of fouls/made baskets/putbacks that comes from driving the rim but those percentages plummet when it's clearly 1 vs 3.
I can't imagine that he doesn't see the issue with the amount of "swing for the fence" drives we take that have about a 90% chance of being swatted for a fast break or a wild arse missed shot (though I guess we did get some putbacks on these).
Seems that I can count on two hand the amount of drives the entire season where we see it's not open, jump stop and quickly pass to someone who is open now due to the defensive rotation.
The moment you get a step on your man it's all or nothing to the rim, open or not, every single time.

Herb Jones is a fricking legend in my book.
Man. I loved him when he was here and still undervalued him. I’ll NEVER forget the day I saw herb ball out vs LSU with a cast and seal the game on off handed one hand free throws.
That was epic. That was the day I got MY hardhat

Ive been to warmups where I’ve seen EVERYONE go unconscious individually and seen games where they couldn’t hit the ocean from a boat, regardless of player.
Warmups mean absolutely nothing in my eyes. If you do it when it doesn’t count then whats it matter?

Great Ringer article on Herb today.
I agree with everyone else, I loved Herb but I didn't realize how great he was until he left.

I don’t think we understood how many mistakes others made that he cleaned up individually on defense.

Yes, but don't forget #12 NBA draft pick Primo
Losing Primo hurt but the timing of losing him is what hurt the most. If Oats knew he was leaving initially he could’ve and would’ve added a formidable replacement from the portal in that first wave when all the great players are there. But Primo goes and kills the draft process and by time it was clear he wasn’t coming back there was nobody left to get.
Primo and Burnett on this team and we win 25 games and are probably still playing IMO

Yeah, you can't tell me those two guys with their defensive and shooting capabilities wouldn't have at least made us a top 15 team.

I agree... Plus primo could have been a 15 ppg scorer

We had a caller ask today about Calipari’s buyout today on KSR Radio and I had the wrong amount
It is $52 million this year and decreases by a little over $6 million a year over the next 8 seasons

Another poor postseason showing or down season overall next year and that divorce is gonna be fricking ugly.

If he dies unexpectedly, I know where the investigation should start.

I think it was just a general comment about how active we are going to be.

Could be , usually though that swimming shark has been a good thing in the past . Definitely expecting to grab 2 -3 transfers
