Ronald Steele was another really big one that I was super excited for at the time.

Hell, I was pretty pumped when we finally got John Petty too tbh.

There's been a lot over the years obviously, but Tchikou is is an unbelievable talent that I really wasn't sure we had any real shot at.

I'm honestly not sure i've ever been happier getting a commitment than when it was announced Tchikou reclassified and committed to us.

Yeah I thought he was one of the best players in the 2021 class but figured we were outside looking in. So I too was extremely excited to find out we signed him. I hope he's back to 100% of his pre-injury self, because you almost never see a guy his size with his basketball skills.

I forgot to post this but when that First clip of Tchikou playing in that league came out the guy over on BOL said Oats and our trainer Clark were not happy and Tchikou got his arse chewed for participating

Another clip of Tchikou in that tournament...LOOK AT THEM HANDLES!! We need him healthy

If he is that healthy that ramps my expectations for this team up a whole nother level. Ya'll ain't ready for this gumpin, I'm gonna be doing some red alert threat level gumpin up in here the next couple of months.

Goddamn he doesn't move like a 7 footer. He's gonna be fun to watch when he's healthy.

Oats likes to play fast, that lineup would be so slow. Who plays with two 6'11 guys on the court anymore? You dont even see Kentucky or UNC doing that.

I digress, I know we arent gonna see eye to eye on this.

This may be the only year we have Tchikou, we better make it count and I hope he stays healthy, he looks like a future lottery pick.

If you want a lineup with a ton of defensive length without sacrificing athleticism you'd want Burnett and Gary out there. Burnett has a 6'10" wingspan and Gary's is 6'11".

JQ
Ellis
Burnett
Gary
Tchikou/Bediako

Insane defensive length but still really athletic.

That's crazy at 6'4".

That is Mikal Bridges like.

It's a big reason why he's such a good defender. Same with Gary. It helps to be tall, but it helps more to be strong and have vines for arms.

Speaking of wingspan, this is Moses Moody.

Jeez, Burnett can scratch his knees without bending over.

JQ
Keon
Gary
Gurley
Tchikou

If you want a big lineup that can still score a lot.

But holy shite at Tchikou in those clips. I mean it looked like he was playing against some rec ballers but damn he looked smooth out there.

What do you guys think Gary's role will be this year? He will have to play more guard than forward this year to get on the court but I think his size and defense alone will get him some minutes. If can be be decent on offense he could have a pretty big role imo. Watching his HS highlights he isn't a terrible shooter. He is a lot more athletic than he showed last year, I don't think his knee was 100% yet.

Assuming Shack doesn't come back who do you think gets more minutes between Gary and Holt?

I think it's pretty safe to say that JQ, JD, Ellis, Burnett, and Miles will be the top 5 guards in the rotation, but last year we had a 6 guard rotation, probably will again this year.

Is this a serious question? We are talking about Juwan Gary? He's gonna play a lot and possibly be a starter. I don't see him playing much guard for us. He's 3 or 4. I agree about him maybe not being 100% last season. But he's a dog. He plays hard. He was one of the better finishers at the rim on last years team. If he develops his shot he will be as complete a player as anyone on the roster. I think his shoulder injury against SC last year really bothered his shot.

I think he will be kind of like Herb was as a JR in that he isn't the most skilled offensively but the other stuff he adds will make it hard to keep him off the floor.

the 3 in our system is pretty much always a guard, and the 4 usually is.

Gary played the 5 some last year. I think he started at the 5 in that SC game you mentioned.

I wanna see if he is consistent with his shot. If he is he is gonna be a big time player for us.

His form looked decent to me just has to knock them down.

TIFWIW but multiple people on BOL have said Holt is gonna play. Best shooter on the team
