No Zags love here but it's nice seeing some stars come back to the college game on occasion.

People are saying this game will be the CBS lead in into the SECCG...if so, PERFECT

I feel bad for any cold beer around me that day.

That would be incredible, if true.

It just sank in that we are going to play against Chet Holmgren next season.

Weirdest elite recruit I've ever seen. Looks like Arkansas' stick man, and plays like Durant.

Sources: Gonzaga and Alabama are finalizing an agreement to play a neutral site game next season in Seattle. There will be a return game in Birmingham during the 22-23 season.
Neutral, my arse...
If it truly counts as a neutral game, I don't think that's great scheduling. I'm all for a tough non-conference and being battle-tested early, but that's absurd for us to drag our asses out to Washington in that home environment against a crazy good team for the off chance of a "neutral site" win.

Then the next year they come to Bham for a neutral site game. I don't see the problem.

There is a return trip. Which means Mext year we basically get a Home game against GONZAGA

If we are playing 12-0 UGA in football that day there is a chance we become the first school to ever beat #1 in both Football and Basketball on the same day

Gonzaga is a 4+ hr drive to Seattle. Spokane is Damn near in Idaho with a mountain range in between.
Tuscaloosa to Bham is less than 1 hr.
It is a quasi home-and-home, but their student body is more stressed to get there. Their students also probably aren't as hyped for a Bama game in Seattle as our will be for a Gonzaga game in Bham.
Advantage for home team environment is Bama between the two IMO.
I don't mind the big time quality opponent early either. It is what the team needs to take the next step.
