Just wanted to let everyone know Alabama_Fan is ok. He's just taking a break from social media, but he will be back soon.

Hodgson needs to be at the top of the list to replace Nate if he ever gets the urge to go test out the NBA.

That will never happen. Nate is going to be our Jim Calhoun or Coach K and I simply refuse to entertain any other possibility.

I do too.

The good news is that NBA hiring practices have changed a lot over time and there's not currently an environment where an attractive job is likely to be offered to someone with no prior NBA experience as a player or coach. And I just don't see him leaving a cushy, secure job to go be a tank commander or inherit the results of the tank.

If Nate left after this year the top 3 choices IMO would be:

Pannone
Hodgson
Bucky

I believe if you get 7 or 8 years as your coach. You are good.

You dont see as many 10+ 20+ year coaches as you once did.

TJ Otzelberger would have to be one of the first calls I'd make if Oats ever left.

If off-court stuff wasn't an issue, Beard would be a name.

I may be reading too much into it, but I feel like it says a lot that Louisville, Kentucky, Michigan, and Arkansas (plus USC, which is probably also a better job than OM in basketball) all had openings and paid no attention to him even though he'd have walked there to sign a contract.
