He plays high school basketball at Prolific Prep in California, he is from Georgia but I dont think distance from home is a big factor in his recruitment.

would post all the top 30 recruits and top transfers we have gotten over the last few years since NIL has been a thing but why waste my time.

‘22 class really was, but Miller and family are big Bama fans. Bradley was a top AA, but Clowney was around 85. None of this year’s freshmen were top 40. Our staff is working really hard, but they haven’t been recruiting this year’s freshman targets. Takes time- and increasingly other SEC schools are paying more than, I think, Oats is willing to pay for a freshman. Our best players this year are transfers, and I suspect that may be for the next class.

Right. All I'm saying is the guys we have missed on so far weren't NIL related and we are very competitive with NIL in basketball contrary to popular belief. Nelson and Estrada weren't cheap, neither was Jarin Stevenson and I believe Stevson was a top 30 player in the 2024 class before he reclassified.

We missed on Jase Richardson because his dad played for Michigan State, ASA Newell's brother is on Georgia's bball team, us losing Fland to Kentucky wasnt NIL related either.

Oats and staff/staffs have recruited great the last few years since NIL has been around, our class last year was ranked 13th and we had the 4th ranked class two years ago. We've also gotten Sears, Nelson, and Estrada who were all viewed by most as top 10 transfers in their respective years.

At least I dont have to use an alter lollll

Editing a post has nothing to do with an upvote sometimes i don't have much time and type it out as fast as i can and notice an error later and edit it or think of a better way to phrase something.

I thought we actually had to be playing games for the trolls and alters to start coming out of the woodwork. Only 40 posts in over a year on the board and decides to use 2 to make fun of a basketball board faithful. Guess the season started early for some trolls.

This is the layest from Trilly on Reid

quote:

Derrion Reid This one has gone back and forth so many times we’ve lost track. Good luck to whoever lands him

As I said earlier too I don't think anyone outside of his circle knows for sure where he is going, they may not even know for sure yet, but our staff feels good, we had matched what Georgia offered him NIL wise last I heard.

This makes it sound like we don't want to be that team.

I dont think Trilly has good sources on this one, whenever it has felt like we led and most people have said we led, he said Georgia led, then when it felt like Georgia was leading he said we were.

I think he is trying to cop out on making a prediction.

Not saying that Reids recruitment hasn't been a headache for all schools involved because it has, but not to the level that we dont still want him.

Ehhh, a player as talented as he is has to be an all time pain in the arse to reach more trouble than he's worth status even if he's a constant source of frustration for whichever team he plays for. Most coaches are going to happily take on that challenge if it comes with lottery pick talent. Fortunately he'll almost certainly just be in college for the one year so there shouldn't be anymore back and forth bullshite over NIL or playing time guarantees or whatever with him after this.

The general consensus was that Alabama pulled ahead again after last weekend, Trilly was really the only one that thought otherwise, he seems to have backed off that now though.

The issue right now isn't NIL or distance. It's the fact that his mother doesn't seem to like CNO. Reid prefers Bama. His mother prefers UGa. I'm not sure of the "why's" about this. No clue what she has against CNO, but that is the info going around. Take it FWIW.

Sounds like speculation, I haven't heard that she doesn't like Oats, in fact we were in the lead for him a long time til Georgia possibly jumped ahead heading into last weekend with an increased NIL offer that we have since matched. I think they’re just trying to get paid as much as possible I think Alabama is where he ends up if all the other stuff is even.

Probably Negative recruiting from other teams about the Miles situation. Also…Oats is very blunt and that probably turns some people off.

Well we seem to be in the lead for him currently regardless of the rumors going around.
