Tennessee being top 3 in any ranking is a joke imo. Colorado and losing at home to Kentucky are terrible losses. The Kentucky loss will look better if they can somehow salvage their season.
Sahvir Wheeler getting hurt may be a blessing in disguise for Kentucky, it forces Cal to play his best lineup which is Wallace, Fredrickson, Reeves, Toppin, Tshibwe.
I dont see how Kentucky doesn't bring Wheeler off the bench when he comes back.
Look at how much better that lineup is than Kentuckys other lineups
That lineup had only played together for 21 possessions before the Tennessee game, but its the main lineup Cal used to beat Tennnesee on Saturday.

Miles's lawyer:
Praying it's true.
quote:
"Darius Miles and his family are heartbroken tonight over the death of Jamea Jonae Harris," said the statement released by Miles' attorney William White, via Patch. "While Darius has been accused of being involved with this tragedy, he maintains his innocence and looks forward to his day in court. Our firm's own investigation is ongoing, and no further statement will be made at this time."
Praying it's true.

I saw that the other guy is indeed from Maryland so its true that Miles did bring him to Tuscaloosa with him, Miles is from Maryland too.

I would argue that you can count the team among the victims of this crime, not complicit with the perpetrator. None of the rest of our guys were in any way involved, yet now they will have to deal with this emotionally, when talking to the press, and you know the opposing fans are going to be brutal.
Miles was obviously a troubled individual who had been separate from the team for a large part of the season. He was not a contributor in any way to the success the team has had this year, yet they’re going to have to endure some pretty harsh scrutiny due to his actions.
So yes, it’s awful that it happened, but that’s not the fault of any of the people that have been playing their butts off for Alabama, which means I will continue to cheer as intensely as ever for those guys. Maybe even harder.
I want to forget Darius Miles ever existed. Let the Justice system sort that out and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. He means less than nothing to me now and I’m not going to waste another minute on him.

I think Darius got charged because he was the driver? In that case he is just a culpable as his friend who pulled the trigger. But it’s all just speculation

I don't even know what to say, unreal. I can't stop thinking about it. Woke up during the night and the first thing that popped in my head repeatedly. So sad 100 different ways.

I have seen enough first 48 to know that if youre with a guy that commits murder, whether you knew they were going to, had anything to do with it or not usually youre gonna be charged with murder too.
Miles couldve been charged for any number of reasons.
The lesson is dont hang around with people who might commit murder.
ETA: not saying Miles is innocent or guilty, I have no idea what the facts are.

I would assume best case scenario for Miles would be;
1. The conflict was spontaneous and not premeditated and NOT initiated by Miles
2. Even though it was Miles' gun, his friend had been holding it for a while and was the shooter
3. The man that was with the victim shot first
For anyone in criminal law, what would that set of facts mean for Miles?

How did that guy driving the victim not get shot?

Because a lot of the POS willing to get into shootouts have stormtrooper aim. Which is terrifying

In other news, I posted this earlier in the thread but Darius "Billy the Kid" Miles derailed the conversation but...
Is anyone going to Vandy, tomorrow?

True. Reeves is probably their best pure scorer.

If those are all true, he walks.
But there is gonna be more to it. They aren't gonna charge capital murder if the other guy shot first without provocation. And it would be a stretch to charge capital murder if the felony is just shooting into an occupied vehicle. Usually on capital murder the felony is gonna be burglary, robbery, assault, kidnapping, and I've seen some where it's buying drugs. So, the circumstances that brought the two groups together are gonna determine a lot. I don't think this is just a case of road rage. But I guess that's possible too.

And that's where Miles is potentially tied in. If there is a connection between the two groups, it wont be from the random friend from Maryland

Who is this "Miles" character, I can't find him anywhere on the official roster?

Shooting into an occupied vehicle is one of the 20 specific circumstances that qualify for a capital murder charge in Alabama.
