Bro, this is REAL LIFE stuff.

Situations like this happen too good people & bad people all the time so we shouldn't be taking lite of the situation.

For my part, I cope with the bleak, depressing reality of our world with gallows humor.

If you want horrible person spin zone, I doubt another university wants to hire a coach who just had a player commit murder.

Not a horrible take......was thinking the same thing

My educated guess on what happened:

The original conflict which led to the eventual shooting happened at a party which some of our players were at. Which is why they got questioned on what they saw at the party.

Then Piece of shite Darius Miles and Piece of shite friend did what they did later

It is a horrible take. Hows it Oats fault what a player who’s already borderline off the team does at 2am on a Sunday morning?

In no way would that keep any other school from wanting to hire him.

I’m hoping Oats has already had a team letting today to refocus the group.

In what way is Oats responsible?

Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats will hold a news conference at 12:30pm Monday, which is typical for the day before a game. Alabama plays at Vanderbilt on Tuesday night after its now-dismissed player, Darius Miles, was arrested Sunday and charged with murder.

I don’t hold him personally responsible. He did recruit the player but that doesn’t make him liable. However on a professional level, what a player does on a team of only 13 scholarship individuals does 100% reflect on you. I can’t see any scenario where another university wants to bring in the coach that just had this happen on their team. A couple years down the road, absolutely. In the immediate aftermath? I don’t see it.

Aaron Hernandez being a serial killer didnt seem to effect Meyer or Belichiks career trajectory any.

I used to see all this shite up close and personal at work. Got totally burned out on it and made a bit of a career change. After a while you just get numb to it.

Not saying he's not guilty of anything, but them essentially brushing off who fired the shot makes me curious as to what they have to charge both with capital murder. Having said that, the video of Miles's arrest where he keeps saying "I love you" (seemingly to his mom) doesn't sound like someone who's innocent.

Oats recruited the dude and brought him back....Nate whiffed on the character evaluation....it happens....Saban has done it too.....but a player committing a murder (allgedly) is pretty bad....as bad as it gets actually

If Darius isn’t the trigger man will that lessen his sentence? Like instead of the Death Penalty just life?
