Isn't this applicable to every team, every year?
Not without the other intangibles of a great team. We have a lot of the intangibles to be a great team. Size, depth, and athleticism.

I think as we play more as a team, the 3 pt shooting will improve organically as well as the turnovers decreasing. We’ll have some rough showings offensively early on, but as long as we win the games we should win, we’ll be in the tournament, and those intangibles will become vastly apparent with an entire season of experience under our belt.

Yeah, Miles is a reckless passer who has never tightened up his handle enough to protect the ball in traffic, which makes him a turnover machine. He should have dedicated himself to becoming a better spot up shooter. With his defensive versatility that would have made him a valuable piece.

really like the length and athleticism of this team. Great slashers and finishers at the basket and very good at rebounding. I think Sears is the answer at starting PG.

Observations only but made only 3 from 3 which will need to get better vs SEC teams who will defend the paint better. 19 turnovers. Maybe they took lessons from the FB team as it relates to too much of things like penalties.

I really like the new comers. Bed appears to be much improved but Miles as SOS

I'm optimistic even though the turnovers/shooting was sub-par. I think guys will get more settled in as we move forward.

Figuring out minutes will be tough with this bunch.

I've never seen a half where 9 different guys had a turnover on one team. That's hard to do.

some of the TO's were just horrible passes. And I was not impressed with the outside shows of most. Most were not even close. Though there were a few that were in the cylinder and popped out.

Somebody on the staff might need to talk to Pringle bout his social media.

Circling back to this rebounding stat: 67 rebounds is the most by any Division 1 team against a Division 1 opponent in nearly 11 years. You have to go back to 12/19/11, when North Carolina pulled down 69 rebounds against Nicholls State to find more.

Print the damn shirts.

2011-2012 UNC went 32-6, won the ACC, and made it to the Elite Eight FWIW.

Nah Gary posted that guys edits all last year and it’s hilarious apparently Pringle has taken over in his absence

It looked like we were rushing 3 point shots early and we just never got in a rhythm offensively.

The defense looks good compared to last year, although I don’t think the perimeter guys were really tested. Our interior defense has potential to be stupid good.

Rebounding was fantastic.

Chuck, Clowney and Pringle all played extremely well. The size and athleticism those three have should be a major problem for just about everyone.

Good for him. I hope he's found a good fit.

Good opener last night. Except we still can't hit the broad side of a barn from behind the arc. That's concerning. Nate either needs to dial down the 3 or we need to start hitting some. We can't shoot 10% from downtown in volume and beat good SEC teams.

Name a true freshman playing in his first game with more confidence than Rylan Griffen. This kid looks like a player. I was expecting him to be good, but wasn’t expecting him to come out right from the jump and look like he could potentially lead the team in scoring. I don’t think he actually will, but I can see a path for him to average double digits. This freshman class is crazy talented - hopefully Miller is the only one that is gone after the season.

Sexton is the only one that comes to mind for me. He was hyper-aggressive from his first minute to his last.

It's weird because I think the sky's the limit for this team given the talent, but at the same time I'm more concerned than most about our 3-point shooting. I get that apparently everyone is Reggie Miller in practice, but the last 4 outings from this squad against actual competition:
- China: 6/32 (18.6%)
- TCU: 7/28 (25.0%)
- SIU: 3/22 (13.6%)
- Longwood: 3/28 (10.7%)

For reference, the worst 3P shooting team in the country last year shot 25.2%. We were a bad 3P shooting team last year, and we only shot below 20% in a game one time the whole season.

I watched a lot of his highlights back when he committed. I was really high on him, but I didn't know if he'd pick everything up quick enough to get a lot of playing time this year. It looks like he's going to be a major contributor though. Glad to see it.
