I'm encouraged. The young guys look good all around. The defense is a million times better than last year. My only concern is the terrible three point shooting. We don't have to shoot a crazy good percentage, but we can't be crazy bad either.

I think we are in a better position than last season but have some work offensively to do for sure.

Defense and rebounding always gives you a chance though and we look much better on that end compared to last year.

Looks like Miles, Gurley and Burnett might be on the bench more than they wanted. Burnett does play defense though. He might have more to offer overall than Miles or Gurley.

Imagine JQ in the game and Sears is allowed to play off the ball.

Agree. Think that could help a lot. If healthy, JQ can probably turn the corner on the defender better for the pass or basket drive.

Positives from Alabama’s 75-54 win over Longwood:

-Defense on their key scorers (Wilkins and Wade were held to 5 points on 2-14 shooting)
-The emergence of Rylan Griffen and Jaden Bradley
-Rebounding (67 rebounds, most rebounds in a regulation game for UA since at least ‘10)

Not sure who Liberty played tonight but they won 104-38.

Just with JQ on the court regardless of what he can or can't do...

You'll see!

They just need his presence.

Am I imagining things or did Oats repeatedly say that Burnett is our best shooter over the summer? I just don't see how. His shot looks janky as frick.

Nate Oats said Darius Miles and Noah Gurley were both nursing injuries, which is why they didn't play much in the second half.
