In a game where we set a record number of penalties, he helped perpetuate this false narrative that we get all of the calls.

He used "we" when referring to Texas multiple times. I specifically remember him saying "we are down to our backup qb."

I’ve always been a Gus Johnson fan but compare his call to Texas’ go-ahead FG with his call of our game winning FG. You could feel the disappointment in his voice.
I love the saying “if you are in a room surrounded by assholes, maybe you’re the a-hole” but it really does seem like there are very few play by play & color analysts anymore. Brad Nessler & Sean McDonough are probably the only good college announcers while Blackledge and maybe Herbstreit are the only decent color analysts. Everyone else is either tries too hard to create drama or is a complete amateur.
