This defense reminds me a bit of the old Miles teams

I’m surprised Kirby doesn’t have a better record post Saban for this reason. Those LSU squads in Saban’s early years were real tall and lengthy and fast. Think Peterson, Mingo, Claiborne, Alexander etc.
I was rewatching the Texas game and their whole defense is much more similar to the old Saban brand with big maulers up front to squeeze the lanes and elite linebacking corps to finish the job.
It always frustrated me how Alabama would get tossed around by the Manziels and Kellys of the world only to hear about LSU beating them by 30 points 2 weeks later. You watch the film and they’re getting chased and harassed in and around the pocket like a hot chick in a horror movie.
Even though it is a bit frustrating when they get run on sometimes, I’m glad we can at least finally get some constant pressure on these non Cam Newton clones. Daniels, Taylor and Sellers IMO will be the last of our problems that actually originate from the QB and not the scheme itself. Leavitt is 2016 Hurts all over again and it showed vs. Ole Miss.
