Michigan- Penn State, Maryland. Both team are 5-0 right now.

FSU- Syracuse, Duke, WF, Miami

Oregon- Washington, Utah, USC

Okla- Texas, Kansas, WV and BYU.

No one is thinking about USC, Texas as contender in playoff.

Bottom line: We don't know what the records will look like by end of October. How many time we've seen good team to drop games down the stretch? We saw several teams to do that last year.

Exactly way too much football left.

As much shite as this team gets I have a feeling we could do the unthinkable.

I said that after Texas beat us and received downvotes lol.

We just need a couple of things to line up and we've got enough to win it all.

Our major problem isn't our OL and QB... it's the fact our OC doesn't have the creative ability to gameplan to protect our weakness and highlight our strengths.

He seems so limited and out offense plays that way.

If we had someone who could use our speed at skill positions to create mismatches for easy throws we could have teams so damn unbalanced they would be scared about what we do next instead of so comfortable we run a certain way and throw a certain way.

Coach Saban didn't want that. He needed someone to come in and run his offense. Rees accepted.
He could have had Ryan Grubb but Grubb wanted to make sweeping changes.

Our major problem the first 3 weeks absolutely was our QB and our OL.

The last 2 weeks they've settled into a groove with experience in general and more specifically experience at playing offense in a different way than we have their last few seasons. Linemen are getting more comfortable blowing off the ball on straight interior runs. Running backs are getting more comfortable with the timing of run players inside the tackles and the rhythm of blocks setting up. And most importantly, Milroe is getting more comfortable with decision making on reads and when to put his foot in the ground and go up field.

Since halftime against Ole Miss

13 drives (in non-garbage time)
9 scoring drives
5 TD drives
3.62 Points Per Drive (averaged 4.41 PPD in 2020, LSU averaged 4.10 in 2019, Alabama 3.37 last year - for comparison)
6.7 Yards Per Play (would rank #12 nationally)

We started the game Saturday with 2 awful drives mainly driven by Jalen making terrible decisions in the pocket and then scored on 6 of our next 7 possessions in a combination of huge play explosive drives and soul sucking murderball drives.

We'll see if the improvement is legit or not this coming weekend, but I fail to understand the mass panic about the offense Saturday.

He has got to learn to throw the ball away. He's out of the pocket for 3-4 seconds and just holds onto the ball.

I thought he did a much better job after those first 2 drives of either moving up field and then down the line or just putting his foot in the ground and going.

But yea, he has a terrible tendency to do the old Jalen Hurts thing where he just kind of tip toes sideways and then takes a sack. For one, unless he's got unlimited time out there, put your foot in the ground and get 5 yards. For two, if that isn't an option, throw the ball into the 15th row.

But I do think that sort of thing just takes live game action to figure out, and he does seem to slowly be getting more comfortable with it.

Can Milroe take advantage of a weak A&M secondary? That's the question. Van Dyke abused A&M. If Milroe can't handle it we will have to revisit the QB position.

You can downvote ya mama's arse. We should blow out A&M with the personnel on the team. But, a QB who can't pass the ball consistently and take advantage of a bad A&M secondary will make this game competitive. I hope Milroe balls out. But, I have concerns.

You probably should take into account the rankings at year end and what we're looking at

Most of the current SEC rankings are still propped up in the lower 20's and haven't started to cannibalize through SEC play. Unless the CFP group ranks SEC schools high to begin with, there's not much leeway for errors and it looks like we'll have more East/West parity with lower rankings than the PAC 12 scenario of multiple mid-high ranked teams.

It's unlikely ND is sitting on such a wide gap of ranked teams at year end with USC/Clemson on the schedule, and the ACC didn't drop the ball on OOC games like the entirety of the SEC did

Texas is the conference favorite to make the playoffs right now. If they get past Oklahoma this weekend they're almost guaranteed to be a lock. Their final six games consist of four dumpster fires in TCU, Iowa State, Tech, and Houston.

If the CFP poll was up this week they'd be the vegas favorite for #1
