Maybe not but that is not my argument. My argument is we do not control our own destiny. I have yet to see one person say if there are 4 undefeated champion P5 teams a 1 loss Alabama gets in. All I have seen is that will not happen meaning we do not control our own destiny.

Ok, let’s try it like this, we have less than a 5% chance of not controlling our own destiny.

Agree. This is a huge challenge and in my opinion should tell us this team’s ceiling.

We’re probably behind a one loss Notre Dame, and a one loss PAC 12 non champ, even if there is a slot

Offense is clicking? Where did you get the idea that it's clicking? They had three turnovers yesterday. Int, 2 fumbles, and then they had missed FG. They were strugging to score against Auburn until 3rd quarter.

Yes and dis Alabama look great against Texas, USF and Ole Miss in the first half?

As the sec champ defeating UGA? I don’t think so.

I think TAMU is probably the biggest mismatch for Alabama left on the schedule. 3 good receivers, good enough run game to keep you from being able to sit back and play the pass, and the DL is deep and active.

Other teams on the schedule may have some of these aspects but TAMU is the only one with all three. Their offense is built to give us problems because of their balance. Their defensive line is particularly concerning considering the up and down play along the offensive line.

I believe there is a scenario in which Alabama could win the SEC and not make the playoff. Depending on the records of other teams a multiple loss Alabama might be excluded.
Bama could reasonably win the West with a loss in conference play.

You are almost surely wrong. ND will have beaten 2 ranked teams. Alabama will have beaten 5 ranked teams, including likely undefeated # 1, in the SECC game. It’s only loss will possibly be to the #2 team, early in the season. No way ND goes ahead of Alabama. Same with a one loss PAC12 champ, much less a PAC12 non-champ.

With the way UGA is playing I doubt they will #1 when the poll that matter comes out. I would not be surprised to see them at #3. The top 5 will have 2 B10 teams in it in the first poll along with Texas and a PAC 12 team. This is assuming they all stay unbeaten.

I don’t think so. I think the SEC has built enough equity to not be left out. Especially when compared to the PAC and ND.

Agree that a multiple-loss SEC champ Bama almost surely will not make the playoff, assuming there are at least 4 undefeated or one/loss P5 champs + ND.

The way UGA is currently playing I would not be surprised if Kentucky pulls the upset which will not bode well for our chances. The spread has already dropped from 24 to 10. UGA I think talent wise is the better team and it is a home game for them but UK is a better team than AU.

If all things stay the same, we have to assume that with these comments.

A 1 loss Bama who beats number 1 UGA to be the sec champ is going.

If BAMA has less turnovers than Aggie, BAMA wins. Not the same number, LESS.

The worry isn't that there will be 4 undefeated teams at year's end. The worry is that there are 6-7, 1-loss teams including 4 conference Champs and ND.

1-loss Champs-

BAMA
MICH
FSU
ORE
OKLA

Then 1-loss
UGA
TX
OhioSt
ND
USC/WASH

This would be a very difficult problem for the committee.

If Milroe holds the ball for 5 sec with great protection like he did last night and refuse to throw the ball away instead taking 6 yard losses unnecessarily (like just jogging out of bounds), will be a long afternoon.

Would love to see more touches for J. Haynes as well.

I do not see FSU dropping a game. UM/OSU/PSU in this scenario would all have 1 loss, but I think UM can win out. The advantage all 3 of the B1 teams is they play each other in the back end of their schedule which will bode well in the rankings. Same for the PAC12 as Washington and Oregon after their showdown in 2 weeks still have 4 ranked teams each on the back end of their schedule.

ND does not concern me even if they beat USC as USC, I see finishing 8-4 with their remaining schedule. So, their SOS finishing out will not look all that good.

Really need FSU to stumble so the ACC drops out of the picture. Even a 1 loss Texas B12 champ goes over Alabama as they already beat us head-to-head in TTown.

Why are we discussing the playoff implications when the poll isn't out yet? Let it play out. This is nothing but noise at this point.

Alabama could develop into a great team - the talent is there pure and simple - but right now this is more of a "hope they win this week" sorta year than "projecting the postseason" year. We've won some titles in seasons with teams similar to this simply because they were committed to improvement every week.

This would be pretty easy IMO. Michigan’s schedule is charmin soft. They should be the one left out.
