I've been saying this forever, but TR Dunn and rah rah Scott were the driving force behind gottfrieds best teams. Tr would and should be considered. He'd do a fantastic job.

In basketball? Honestly, if I had to choose I'd take offense. If we have to lose, at least let's have some fun. We go to basketball to be entertained anyways.

I was pretty damn entertained when Grant first got here. It was refreshing seeing us play defense for the first time in 15ish years.

Gottfried won an SEC championship, and went to the elite eight. So i'd say so.

Not defending Gottfried in anyway, just saying that unlike CAG, he at least has accomplished something, and earned his paycheck at one point. Grant has been steeling the universities money for five years.

Bruce Pearl is better than both of them.

The Salukis of Southern Illinois. Pettway hit a runner to beat them.

Warning, cool story below.
I moved to Louisville in the fall of 2005. At the time I had very little concept of Alabama basketball, like most people. This was in midst of the lost Shula years prior to the one ten win season he had. As we all know, Louisville is basketball town, so everyone I worked with complimented me on the Tide's basketball team. MG was the coach then. No one has ever complimented AG on one of his teams.

Don't think the word "better" should be used in the same sentence with either of them.

Gottfried was worse at coaching. Gottfried was the beneficiary of being the coach of Alabama during the peak of in-state recruiting talent. Grant doesn't look like the answer, but I'd take him over Gottfried every damn day of the week.

I miss that high post UCLA offense.

That UCLA high post offense got them 45 points against a decent Virginia team that allowed 87 points to UT. Combine that with Gottfried's shitty defense and they lose by 31. Do you seriously miss that?

That High Low Post offense worked great when we had Chuck Davis, JeMario Davidson, and Richard Hendrix if you remember. That offense is better than no offense. And Gottfried always at least one outside shooter.
Grant is so defensive minded he can't grasp giving a little to develop offense.

I rest my case. The talent had more to do with the offense than the offense itself. Gottfried's offense is better than what we currently run, but with the post players we have it wouldn't be much better.

Grant's had multiple classes to address talent issues. Here he is 4/5 years in and he doesn't have a single person that can hit 3's? Every high school team in the state can find a stand still shooter, surely one of them in 5 years was athletic "enough" to take.

Not completely disagreeing with this, but he did play Trevor Lacey a lot and he was a huge hole in our defense. Randolph and especially Cooper, were also viewed as top shooters. He also has three offensive-oriented recruits committed for 2014. I just think Grant is pretty clueless offensively.
