So, Pollard is a complete bust?

No. He's just not good right now. It's hard to call someone a bust in their first year. I don't understand how he was a 5* though.

Shouldn't have been a 5* but wouldn't call him a bust. I like him coming off the bench. He can be an energy guy for us this year and maybe develop into a solid role player/starter over the next 2 years.

I wouldn't call him a bust unless he looks like this next year, but he should have been a 3 star instead of a 5 star. He can't even do very basic things like making an outlet pass when he grabs a rebound.
He will occasionally show flashes of elite athleticism, but again...he has absolutely no idea how to play team basketball. He's probably a beast in 1 on 1 drills during practice though.

Too early to call a bust but I can't understand at all how he was a five star

I think this team would be much, much better if we just had one more big that had the ability to score with his back to the basket. All we have in that department is Jacobs' left baby hook.
Just having a legitimate offensive presence inside would free up the shooters a little bit more and also give us another a chance to show opposing defenses a different look and give us another option besides relying on jump shooters when they are having a bad shooting night.
And our fast break offense is absolutely atrocious.

No. Part of the problem is he had the skill-set of a project player in HS. On top of that he is the shyest kid you'll ever meet which is going to kill his nerves in the first year. The skills part of his game wasn't this bad in HS, but he did most of his scoring through his athleticism against 3A talent in HS, hence the 5-star rating. I was hoping he would be more effective this year, but he is far from being labeled a bust and I expect him to be a much better player next year as his body gets bigger and stronger and as he gets used to collegiate play. As bad as he has been this year, he might be our best bet at breaking this NBA draft drought.
