Fouts has been all over the place. We are lucky to be clinging to a 1-0 lead. Maybe the freshman has hit the wall or maybe she’s not 100% healthy but she’s not the same dominant pitcher she was earlier this season. As usual, Murphy has ridden her until the wheels fall off.

Just for you, not about anger. About results. He did good tonight. Got of the way and let them play. When he has to make a coach decision, then the issues begin.

Great win. Glad to have at least a piece of the title. But it doesn’t change my mind that Murphy does some dumbass stuff and is the Bobby Cox of softball. I think his record in the post-season would support that statement.

Yep. Would be great if we could win the title this year, but I have no confidence he can get it done.

Well since Bobby Cox is regarded by most experts and most people with half a brain to be one of the best baseball managers of all time, and his record backs that up, that is a pretty good compliment of Murphy!!

Phil, You obviously don’t know jack about softball and especially softball pitching. The innings pitched is not even remotely the same as baseball relevant to how much the arm gets worn down.

Montana isn’t even in the top ten for most innings pitched either and she still had it going strong at the end.

I recall just a few years ago we would pitch the same lady every game of a crucial weekend series because that was all we had. We have 3 who are around 2.0 ERA that would have given last years team a better chance of winning. Last years team no only didn't have quality pitching it had poor hitting. We have improved 100 fold this year and it appears we are even more aggressive on the base paths. Now if we could only get our lead off batter to learn how to hit and drive the ball instead of what she does we would be better off. Her BA is decent but I don't recall and RBI from her the times I have seen a game.

Fouts ERA at 1.01 and Goodman at 1.20 and Cornell just under 2

Brown at lead off might not get the RBI stats and has left some runners on, but batting .344 and 41 out of 44 stolen bases. I like her once she gets on, and she's a pretty good center fielder.
We had the Lockhart girl that injured her knee who could have maybe helped out in RBI's.

Leadoff hitters are mainly just suppose to get on base and usually are good at stealing bases. They usually don't have a lot of RBIs.

and I agree 100% with you but when there are runners on base in front of her then she has to do something with ducks on the pond. And with 11 RBI's she is clearly not getting in done in that respect. And a leadoff batter is only guaranteed on the first at bat of a game.
