I'm not sure I get your point about "life being a video game,"

In video game football, each "player" has a rating and plays to that rating each and every play. In life, players and teams have wild swings in quality of performance. A team can be a top-15 team one week and a bad unranked team the very next week.

And the only way to really know is to be on the field.

I really wonder about the reading comprehension of some of our posters

You throw out this statement and then offer nothing to refute my point. You even offer non-nonsensical evidence that sense Venebles played Bend but don't break in the championship game we should be playing it in week 3.

Why is it in our best interest to play 85 plays a game on defense? We lost another starting D lineman. I'd rather our offense stay on the field with their depth and controlling tempo, and have our defense take chances to get 3 and outs, create chaos, not be predictable and force our young players to have a trial by fire than by coddling them.

This is Saban doing the same thing on defense that has lead to us giving up 40,36, 44 points to Clemson when they had a dual threat running the HUNH offense, and I'm the crazy person for wanting us to make a change?

What I’m saying is I think it’s logical to think Georgia or LSU or some of these better teams won’t just get into the Redzone and be lost like South Carolina.

I'm not sure you'll see the same defensive strategy against those teams either.

Time may prove me wrong but what I think we're seeing is the staff using these games to build up the freshmen on defense so that they'll be ready for those bigger games. Right now, they're all new. Put a game plan in place that keeps everything in front of them so that they don't get beat and lose confidence. Each week add a little more complexity so that when November rolls around they'll be ready to use the full package.

Just a suggestion.....change your mindset back to Bama 2008. Forget about winning the SEC or any other goals other than Nick and staff getting this bunch better this week! This week is the only thing that matters. What other teams have or doing is clutter until we actually have to play them.

That's exactly how I see the defense right now.
