Not being a pussy. Stating facts. Auburn is playing the best basketball of any team in the country. I think they are playing close to their ceiling. I think Bama has a much higher ceiling and will be one of the teams to beat at the end of the season.

You say you are stating facts and then go on to list three clear opinions.

Here are the facts. We dont play AU until February. We just won a good hard fought game against two projected lottery picks. You are in here posting about Auburn.

Rutgers is not a bad team at all. They handed Purdue their first loss of the season last year with Zach Edy. Their coach is very good.

Mo D will play in the NBA in the next few years. Lots of Draymond/Herb traits.

Gotta wonder if he becomes a starter for us. He was a "finisher" last night and the night before. Im not sure what CNO's philosophy is on who gets to start. But the guy is out there winning hard hats and seems clearly the best rebounder and defender that we have. Not sure what else he needs to do. If he starts it would have to be at the 3.

Cliff
Grant
Mo
??shooter??
Sears

The other question would be has Philon played his way out of the starting lineup?

CNO does like to have some energy and scoring coming off the bench. I think he likes Holloway in that role. Reid is playing well and has started some games but you cant really play him at the 2 with Mo and Grant and Cliff.

Picking lineups has never been this difficult for Alabama basketball.

We have so much potential. It’s like people don’t remember (or know) that we lost a lot of OOC games last year before going to the final 4.

This year we have a brand new team. I am
not sure I think we were like 200 in returning production. A team that people are talking about looking so good was like #30.

The returning production we do have may not even be our best options this year. Certainly not every night. We are still learning to play together. The tough OOC, win or lose, will pay off down the stretch if we stay together and continue to mesh.

We lost to Purdue going off shooting crazy percentages on the road. We overcame two great players making everything with a great coach last night. The day after edging out murder ball Sampson (again).

I’m excited. Happy Thanksgiving, fellas.

Yeah it seems like very few if any of the TNT commentators were willing to give us credit last night. They just kept going on and on about Harper. Rightfully so. He is a great player. But Alabama won the game straight up.

Won the game straight up while playing like crap. You don't usually win games when you shoot 69% from the ft line and have 20 turnovers. Yet, they did by 5 points.

Big ups to Jarin Stevenson

So glad for him. Guy needed some thing good to happen. After he hit a free throw, it was like the dam holding back his whole game burst.

Wrightsell has hit his last 15-28 3 pt attempts and was borderline automatic on any open 3 attempt in the past 3 games. He had two terrible turnovers late in the game last night, but I still think it's hard not to start him.

I don't think it's ultra important that Philon starts. Let him and Holloway spell Sears and Wrightsell as needed and the minutes will be there.

Like you, I don't see how we keep Mo out of the game at this point. It bordered on criminal last night that he did not enter the game last night until the 9 minute mark of the first half. Plenty long enough for Rutgers to allow their two freshman to get a handful of misses out of their system and find their comfort zone.

I was about to say. The kid showed grit last night, and will only help his confidence. He won us the game imo with his play late in the game.

Man, i will take 6-1 all day.

Meant to say "has hit his last 15-28 3 pt attempts"

Our biggest rotation problem right now isn't with the 1-4 spots.

I agree. Oats has been trying to work Sears at the 2 and let Philon be the 1. He has always liked to go to a three guard lineup for spurts. I think we will continue to see that throughout the year. Philon plays better when we can spread teams out and run. Oats definitely wants to do that.

Exactly, Nate is going to run a lot of 3 guard (false small forward) lineups. The minutes will be there, these guys just have to keep from playing their way off the court. I absolutely love Philon, but he played his way off the court the past 2 games and he was given the opportunity.

The crazy part is, these guys have about 1 more month to win minutes. Youngblood may need about 3-4 weeks of acclimation once he returns, but he is going to be taking somebodies minutes by mid January.

I think I saw on Torvik Auburn has the best resume in the country right now and the 2nd best resume in the country….Alabama.

Without Youngblood and playing nowhere near our best ball.
