Obviously doesn't mean he's gone, but this list is a testament to what kind of talent Kira is.

Duke, Memphis, & TCU have been among those that have reached out to the All-SEC freshman Kira Lewis, who lead Alabama in scoring & assists. Lewis was the second youngest player in Division-I this season.

Yeah, honestly you can’t blame the players for playing CYA at this point. What would YOU do if this search turned into a cluster frick and we ended up with Pelphrey or Mike Davis? It’s in their best interest to keep their options open for now. I would do the same.

Hell at this point, ya know what, every last one of them - get that arse in the transfer portal. Good riddance to any memory of the Avery Johnson era.

I fully expect to lose a few more players/signees, because that's just what happens when you undergo a coaching change. Especially in basketball. Everyone freaking out that we won't even have a team next year has lost their minds though. We may lose 3 or 4 guys and not be a very good team next year, but if we get the hire right it'll be fixed after a recruiting class or two.

Exactly, we will be fine. I can’t think that Ninja is going to come back with McDermott, Davis, or Pelphrey. Especially, if the BOT told him to swing for the fences. He hasn’t let us down yet.

I agree.
We cant focus on short term again. This clean the house process may go exceedingly well. Most likely we need a complete culture shock which may lead to even worse records for a year or two and I am good with that as long as we can see evidence of a plan and coaching.
Guy I used to coach with, took many teams to playoffs, won a championship etc. said his best coaching job he ever did was with a team that won 1 game. He took over a program and spent that first year establishing his program, expectations and non negotiables etc.
I am completely ok with being a worse basketball team next year if we have hope of it being part of changing the culture.

Alabama sophomore wing John Petty told me that he is transferring no matter who the Crimson Tide hire as their new coach.
Per Jeff Goodman on Twitter.
Well bye then lol

That sucks he wont even give the new guy a chance.

I'll be honest, I'd love to have Petty and Kira back, but if we hire a good basketball coach and retain Kira I won't think twice about the rest.
Posted on 3/27/19 at 1:03 pm to gumpinmizzou
Idk what we will do without his 1 good game out of every 10.

Yeah having Petty back would've been cool, but I don't think it's critical. The hire is way more important for the long term than retaining a streaky guard.

Petty is hot once every 16 games...
Buh-bye

Has it been confirmed or denied that Kira is the youngest player in the transfer portal?

I think good coaching & development, Petty could be an all conference player. Potential is there. To bad he's not considering incoming coach.

Count Duke, Tennessee, Memphis and Louisville as a few of the programs involved early on with Alabama transfer guard Kira Lewis, a source tells @Rivals

Can the players not enter the portal after we hire a new coach or is there a deadline on entering the portal?
A lot are saying they are entering to protect themselves but that doesn’t make sense if they can enter the portal whenever.
Also, once a player enters the portal does that mean Alabama no longer has to honor their scholarship?

We just need Kira back. Idc about the other 3 and IMO all were cancers to the team.

Damn we may have to play like the Hickory Huskers did....going to be a lonely bench.
