In case you missed it, Colorado beat Norfolk St by 16, 76-60. SMH at the people that didn’t want Avery gone.

Hey Rockie, I heard on the radio that Mike Young of Wofford is your backup plan for Sampson. What are you hearing?

The thing that Sampson got in trouble with a long time ago is now legal by the NCAA. The whole Sampson is dirty thing is really misguided if you look into it.

I heard his name as well but not as a backup, just more of an under the radar. I don't think he is a bad coach but would not be in my top 5 choices at all.

Vanderbilt has UCF’s Johnny Dawkins as one of its top targets to replace Bryce Drew, source told @Stadium. UCF will likely step up and try and keep Dawkins.

And he saves strong-arse offers for in person unlike some coaches

I still think Dawkins is kind of mediocre. UCF is becoming one of those programs where it's pretty easy to win in basketball and football.

Absolutely - his only 2 teams that have been NCAAT teams are also Top 25 experience teams. And they entered the tournament as a #10 and #9 seed.

I would be really, really dissapointed in that if I was Vanderbilt.

Damn, this reminded me that we have some dumb radio hosts saying it would be stupid to take him in because Duke will just steal him back when Coach K retires.

Hire a coach who beat Duke in the tournament. What could go wrong?

LOL - nothing better than the "but a great program might steal him in 5 years" argument.

OH NO, OUR COACH WOULD HAVE DONE SO WELL A BLUE BLOOD WANTS HIM. WHATEVER SHALL WE DO!

Not only that but Duke wants no part of him right now

I might be crazy but Duke can do just a little bit better than that

OT but it’s really fascinating to watch UCF evolve as a university. It’s very young, having been founded in 1963 and it now has the largest on campus enrollment in the country. It’s in a fantastic location for sports recruiting and it is quickly growing into a G5 behemoth. I believe that within the next 5-10 years they are going to wrangle themselves an invite to a P5 league.

They are a natural fit geographically for the SEC or ACC but UF, FSU and Miami would throw a fit to keep them out. It would give the Big XII or Big 10 a foothold in new territory in a fertile recruiting ground and I’m surprised neither is tripping over themselves to get UCF in the fold. I can’t imagine what’s stopping them, especially the Big XII except for needing a second team to keep the numbers even and easier to work with.

I laughed when people started the Dawkins hype after one game, that he lost. How about that Stanford record?

The B1G might be turned off by the academics side. UCF would love to go to the Big 12 though. Theyre already routinely traveling as far West as Oklahoma and Texas as well as up to Connecticut and Philly. Their travel wouldn't change too much and theyd be getting paid way more to do it

Of course ever since the NCAA let the Big 12 have a football title game with only 10 members I don't think they feel as compelled to expand as they did a few years ago
