3manfront (Landrum?) just said Chris Beard's buyout is actually only around 4 mil if he leaves on his own.

Thought it was around $12,000,000

If that’s true about Beard, that’s a game changer. He’s worth $4 million but is he going to leave Texas?

Arkansas better get in the game if you’re going to change. Texas may still fire Shaka, A&M is waiting on Buzz but if that falls through, they are looking. Vandy is in the market, so is Bama, UCLA is. I’m sure there’s more I’m not remembering but you’d better shite or get off the pot. Times a wasting.

Thing that worries me about him is although he has made the tournament the last 9 years. He has only made it to the S16 once. Most coaches can get lucky and do better than that in the tournament with that many chances.

Is there serious talk that he wants to leave his school? Always assumed he would stay there as long as they let him.

Yea I dunno, I feel like his name pops up on every search in that first group of like 10.

I don't see any reason why he'd leave Texas Tech for Alabama. Good salary, good arena, good support, from Texas, good league. I'm not sure what we could offer him to make him want to leave there.

Yeah, I think it's still a really long shot, but it's at least somewhat more realistic than if he had a 12 mil buyout.

How would y’all feel about Mike Brey at ND?

There is no reason. Beard would almost certainly be using us to leverage a raise. Despite having a $3M+ salary I'd say he's underpaid for the results he is getting, but not so underpaid that he'd feel unappreciated by his employer and leave if someone offers to compensate him fairly. He'd leave for Texas and that's probably about it other than a blue blood.

Great coach, makes around $2.5M, not sure about a buyout if he even has one anymore. That might not be a bad idea, sir.

Just not sure if he'd want to leave Notre Dame. He's built that program since 2000.

Nope, fans need to move on past him. Nothing wrong with an AD inquiring about interest but he isn't leaving the state. Arkansas fans have the same issue thinking he would be willing to come here because he was at UALR for one year.

They do but it isn't too late till Houston is out of the tournament and they don't play till Friday. That being said, if nothing is done before the end of the week.....Mike is staying.

Yeah George I see your point and I don’t think Cronin would be a complete bust but Cincy has been winning basketball games for a very long time. They even have a couple of natties on their resume. Cronin took the pieces left by Huggins abrupt firing/Andy Kennedy’s interim season and it took him 4 entire years to get them back to the Dance at a basketball school in a decent but not deep conference.

And as someone else pointed out, he can’t get them past the round of 32. In 13 years at the helm, he’s got 9 tournament appearances and only 1 Sweet Sixteen. There’s just some red flags there that make me think I’d rather gamble on Prohm.

Oh yea - I don't want Cronin at all. I'm in total agreement there.

Can you do an analytics summary of each coaching candidate with their coaching strengths and weaknesses?

Having said the negative stuff about Cronin. Cincy would be dumb to let him go.

Started working on something like this with a focus on mid-major coaches. If yall reached that 2nd tier you mentioned earlier, Forbes is the best pick imo.

If true, I’d throw hella money at that dude to convince him to come here. Alas, he’d probably say no, but if we’re swinging for the fences might as well give it a shot.

Yep - his combination of attributes along with his work across the board is a home run.

I'd honestly be ecstatic if they just hired him today. I wouldn't even be sad about not getting any of the "bigger" names.
