Not really impressed by our route tree! Don’t know if it’s coaching or just a lack of dedication by each receiver. Seems they have a hard time selling routes to get that separation!
What’s the problem???

A couple of times for sure Russell was waiting for them to be wide open instead of throwing them open.

The receivers were fine? Russell looked indecisive

How many times did Russell hitch to throw and not let it rip?

They were giving him a healthy diet of zone and mixing the drop 8 and zone blitz concepts. Russell did struggle a bit but still had 335 yards of total offense. With his ability to scramble, I'd rather he hitch a throw than let it rip for multi-turnover game. He's just got to be conservative with what he does on the run...avoid unneeded hits.

Absolutely .. he had a couple of close throws but we had to leave at the half .. people passing out and getting carried out was insane to see

Meadows has the hands to be the go to receiver. Had some nice receptions.

I agree, but I did see our receivers run their routes and just stop a couple times. They’re going to have to learn that Russell’s legs will extend plays. They need to find him and get themselves open when he breaks the pocket

He has a long way to go with learning his receivers, and getting the confidence to throw before they come completely out of their routes.
QB football intelligence is still a concern to me. I hope he has the IQ and saavy, AND is a quick learner.

Catching the ball is a prerequisite. Gotta start somewhere.
