We played first because the Rose Bowl Game is always played early afternoon

The last game started too late. 8 is too late with most folks having to go back to work the next day

It’s true. Of course some SEC fans like AU and LsU fans hate the frick out of Bama. But nationally there are tons of fans that hate Bama as if their teams were rivals with Bama

People also hate Michigan, too. But they are both stories programs and it was a close game that went into OT. I’m sure if I wasn’t a Bama fan I would have loved watching it.

Imagine if it had been on ABC... I'll never understand why they insist on putting games like this on ESPN. No one's out buying cable for one game (they'll just watch on Youtube). Broadcast is a reliable 10M+ increase from cable

Not near to the level of Alabama. I’m not talking about media. I’m talking about fans. All the blue bloods are disliked but the crazy success of Bama under Saban puts Bama over the top. Great for viewership too

But yes I imagine the vast majority of people will be cheering for Washington not Michigan
