I’ve seen prayer requests popping up on Twitter, but no news of what’s happened.

He seems like a genuinely good guy. I hope he pulls through this. He has young kids that need him. Thoughts and prayers are with him.

That’s awful. Grew listening to him and David Crane doing Bama baseball. He’s great at what he does.

Never met the man, but I would have to guess he is a great guy. Certainly seems like it. If people dont listen to basketball games on the radio, I strongly suggest you give it a try... he is incredible.

Met him in a fast food restaurant after the time we beat Auburn 51-49 in the last second. Didn’t approach him, he sought us out because he saw our Crimson Chaos shirts and thanked us for supporting the tide.
Always enjoyed him and I think very highly of him. Praying for him and his family.

Damn. That sucks. I've never heard a better basketball play by play guy.

I know Chris personally. He's one of the most genuinely nice guys you'll ever meet.

He seems like a great guy anyone would want to know and have as a friend.

This sucks. I'm truly concerned about about him. I really hope he's ok and can make a full recovery. I feel so bad for his family, especially his kids.

An Alabama broadcaster involved with multiple Crimson Tide sports is in the hospital Monday evening.
Chris Stewart had a "serious medical procedure," Alabama athletics director Greg Byrne tweeted Monday evening. A member of the Alabama basketball, baseball and football radio crews, Stewart typically hosts the Hey Coach radio show Monday nights. Longtime producer Tom Stipe asked for the prayers of the Alabama nation.
Both Stipe and Byrne indicated the procedure "was a success."
"It's been a long day," Stipe said on the air. "All we've been doing pretty much all day is checking on Chris and praying for him."
Stewart, 47 just completed his 16th season as Alabama's basketball radio play-by-play announcer. Before that, the 1992 Montevallo graduate called Birmingham-Southern College basketball games for eight seasons.
Alabama football radio broadcasts include Stewart as the sideline reporter who does Nick Saban's halftime interview. He also hosts the weekly Saban and Avery Johnson television shows broadcast statewide.
Stewart was with the Alabama baseball team for the weekend series at Texas A&M that ended Saturday. His most recent tweet was posted at 1:22 p.m. Sunday with notes on the Game 3 loss in College Station.
Tide baseball coverage has been part of his work since the 2000 season.
Stewart is married to Christy Stewart and has three children.

Can someone with medical knowledge shed some light on a blood clot in someone's brain. My grandmother had one almost 2 years ago and it caused her to have a bad stroke. Would Chris have had a stroke?
Sounds like he is conscious and talking so that's good.

Sorry I don’t exactly meet your criteria, but I’m pretty sure he could have very easily had one.. but didn’t. Ryan Brown tweeted that the situation has been about as good as anyone could have hoped for, so I would assume not stroking was a part of that.

Kirk McNair update:
From Christy Stewart: Hey- if you can update everyone to let them know procedure went well. He had a blockage in his neck which was causing him to have blood clots and had a stroke. He will be In the hospital for a few days. We will know more as far as recovery. The doctor said God had his hand all in this. He could of had a major stoke or died. Very thankful we caught it in time.
