Bigelow was recruited by Orgeron. It would not surprise me to see him end up in Baton Rouge.

LSU already took in 2 transfers earlier on.
Bigelow was initially looking closer to home, from USCw to USCe.

He didn't graduate early. He redshirted at tOSU in 2014 so he's been on campus 4 seasons. With summer terms, he's had ample opportunity to graduate and then some - even if he had to take a few classes twice.

Grad transfer defensive lineman interested in Alabama (al.com)
Preston Gordon, a 3-year starter at DT for Rice.

Alabama is interested in adding a graduate transfer at more than just quarterback.
It's also possible the Crimson Tide could sign a grad transfer defensive lineman. And Preston Gordon from Rice is one of the names to keep an eye on.
Gordon, a three-year starter at defensive tackle for the Owls, left Rice in January and has had some preliminary contact with Alabama.
"If Alabama were interested, that's a top tier program and I would definitely be interested," Gordon told AL.com. "As a D-lineman, that's where it's at, so it would definitely be high, high interest."
The Tide is open to adding a grad transfer defensive lineman because of losing three of its top D-linemen from last season and because of only signing two defensive linemen in this year's recruiting class.
Coach Nick Saban mentioned at Alabama's National Signing Day press conference that the Tide will "continue to look and evaluate and see if there's somebody out there that can help us."
Gordon is a possibility.
The 6-foot-1, 280-pound Texas native posted 87 tackles, 17.5 stops for a loss and seven sacks the last three years at Rice, including 34 tackles, 4.5 stops for a loss and a sack in 12 games last season as a redshirt junior.
Gordon has visited Texas Tech and Kansas. There has also been communication with schools such as TCU, Tulane, Syracuse and Connecticut. And now Alabama.
"Of course, the chance to come in and play and fight for a starting spot (is important)," Gordon said. "Also, academically and an opportunity to push toward the NFL because, of course, I want that shot. Those are really the three main things for me."

I hope we can pull in someone better than Gordon. If not we'll be ok. All we really need is a guy who can come in and play good gap football for 10 plays a game. If our coaching staff offers him I have faith he'll be able to do that.

This is the guy we should try to get:

Sterling Johnson (6-4/305), a rotation defensive lineman at Clemson, is also looking to take a graduate transfer. Johnson appeared in eleven games for the Tigers this season, recording 14 tackles and two sacks in 2017. He was a high school All-American, so the talent is there. And Johnson still has time to make an impact - he's got two years of eligiblity remaining.

We should be after Johnson hard.

No doubt Johnson will have suitors and options. With two years of eligibility left, he's like a juco, only better, imo. Though he didn't start like top jucos do, his rotational playing time was at a top tier program with strong coaching. And he's that versatile DT/DE type Bama likes. I suspect our staff is after him hard. They should be, imo.

Per BOL: It doesn't appear there's much going on with Sterling Johnson and Miami (or others) yet. Regarding us hiring away Miami's DL coach, Johnson said he doesn't know Kuligowski.
Pete Golding has begun talking with Johnson. He's interested, but he's also exploring other options. Miami, Virginia, Maryland, Marshall and Louisiana-Lafayette were mentioned.
Johnson graduates in August. So, he can tranfer and play in 2018. He has two years of eligibility left. Clemson granted his transfer release last week, to any school not on their 2018 schedule.

Oof. He won't be here for conditioning and can't really gel over the summer with the other lineman. That's going to be a con.

Totally overrated and unimportant fan idea. 'Jelling' isn't that important - it's not like their going into space together or getting married. The only important thing is if he can come in, learn some playbook, and do his job on whatever snaps he can get. And there's no reason he can't show up in good shape.
