I know people say he is unique and it takes time, but I don't get needing 36 hours to decide when you've known the offer was coming for over a week. If this goes past tomorrow, I don't like our chances. It seems that Texas is what he wants. I think he is intrigued by our offer, but he really wants Texas to up what they are offering. No expert. Just an opinion.

Probably a good business decision. I'd do it if I had two employers reaching out to me.

Shannon Terry said he isn't predicting one way or another, but if he had to make a pick he still believes we land Marshall.

That's a chicken shite prediction. I don't know if he's scared of leaking it or what. He's been mighty quiet since early on.

Dude it took Calipari like a week to decide on UK and it was a circus. Fans spent like 2 days staring at a door he never came out of. Swarms of media and fans surrounded his home. It was a shite show.

Meh, it's a "prediction" on a guy who might not be decided himself. I see it like recruiting predictions. You may think you know where a kid is leaning, but he might not know where he is headed at that moment.

I don't think we land him, but that is just my gut.

No one knows at this point. Which is why I'm shocked at this non prediction prediction.

I have a bad feeling that we will be left with our dicks in the wind on this one. Really REALLY hope I'm wrong though.

Perhaps he said that to quell the many melting Bama fans on BOL. What's scary is that we don't really have a plan B. We have plan Z guys like Prohm and Pitino, but nobody comparable to our first choice especially with Smart's heavy flirtation with Texas.

Would we go after Miller if GM turns us down. I don't want us to go down to Prohm or Ricky.

It is scary. The SEC has some really good basketball coaches. Gone are the days of Stan Heath and Jeff Lebow. SEC schools have money now and they are spending it on proven commodities. What a disaster this would be if we end up with Prohm or Pitino. You could say we upgraded from Grant, but it sure wouldn't feel like it.

Marshall has been my #1 choice for a long time. I'm glad Battle recognized him and made him a top priority. However, two other SEC schools have had coaching vacancies occur since we fired Grant and those schools made pretty good hires. If our strategy of waiting two weeks for Marshall doesn't pay off, then Battle will have a lot of egg on his face.

People still say that if he don't choose Texas, that he will just stay in Wichita. If that's the case then he would have already told us no. Maybe he is trying to hold out to make sure Texas doesn't want him before he commits to Bama.

This. State and UT hired their man in less time combined than it's taking us. Miller better be plan B and not these stiffs like Prohm and Lil' Ricky. And we'd better be ready to move on Plan B in a heartbeat. I hope there are some backup negotiations going on behind the scenes or we look like idiots and are totally screwed. This is getting embarrassing.

I'm not as worried about our plan B options and what these others have done.

According to Parrish, State had that Howland thing in the works long before they actually fired Ray. Plus from the sound of it Adidas played a major role in that.

I would be furious if we hired Rick Barnes.

We are chasing a coach who is arguably a top 10 guy in CBB that will have all sorts of offers in the coming future. They hired guys that got fired.

With Okie State staying out, Texas seemingly leaning the NBA route, and the money/resources we are throwing around I think we will be fine.

Even if Texas is interested, they won't give him what Alabama will. Now, that may not matter to him, but nevertheless. If Marshall chooses Texas over Alabama, he will live to regret it.

On Monday my confidence of landing GM was like 75-80%. Now it's like 15% and dropping each hour.

what does that even mean, he will live to regret it. Are you putting a hit on someone. UT is better BB job then Alabama. Take your crimson colored glasses off.

I really don't think Texas is a factor here.
