Why does setting the edge better correlate to golding coaching? Last I checked sal sunseri coached the olbs and we know what he can do as a coach. We will see with our own eyes come Wednesday, what golding is capable of as a coach. He's had the spring camp, fall camp, and now with the bowl practices being essentially another camp, the proof will be in the pudding.

I'm not against giving him another year due to the injury situation but if he fields that same confused defense against Michigan, I will be stocking up on alcohol for next season in the coming months. Like others have said in here, he just looks completely unprepared and unprofessional in his interviews which resembles the product he has been fielding for a defense the entire season

I think that we can fix a lot of our problems on D by simply fixing the tackling issue. How many times were our players in position to make a big stop in a big game this season and they just completely flubbed the tackle?

Whether it was stupidly trying to strip the ball one on one, going way too high and getting manhandled, or taking an awful angle, the hardest thing to watch was our bad tackling.

Do we need to bring in a tackling specialist or something? Are our guys just not as physical and aggressive as years past? Not sure what the answer is, but it seems like it is something that would be easy to fix, and its something that shouldn't be a problem in the first place.

I agree 100% and you really have to wonder if it has a correlation with our injury issue. Maybe saban is trying to not be as physical during practices which is making us soft when it's time to play an actual game. With that being said, if this is what we have to look at as being our "worst" season, we are fricking spoiled. We were still in the hunt for the playoffs up until the last game of the season and that came down to the wire. I literally just posted this same thing on bol but I will take this season anyday over watching us miss multiple game winning field goals only to miss the fricking extra point in ot to lose to fricking Arkansas.

I warned you in the other thread to back off the personal attacks. You continue to do so. I even let it slide yesterday. You’re on a 2 week break. Hit the button to come back on the 13th.

Are we really banning people on this forum for saying things like “you’re full of shite” or calling someone stupid on an online forum?

You sound like you just came off the streets of the SEC Rant. If you disagree, be specific. Otherwise throwing food at someone you disagree with doesn't make you that smart.

And then have 6 true freshmen on D starting at some point during the year (and occasionally having to start 5 at the same time)

Were there no upperclassmen at ALL behind these guys that got hurt?

Provide more information

Why are you asking a question you already know the answer to? Yes, there were but it looks like the coaches thought the freshmen were better...and from seeing the other ILBs in limited playing time, I'd say the coaches were right...

Provide more information

1) We were thin at ILB before the season and we knew this was the one area we could least afford injuries.

2) The nightmare scenario happens and both starting ILBs are knocked out for the season. As this is the position where the defensive calls come from and alignment changes are made, it's a disruptive factor since our defense has to rely on true freshmen to make the calls.

3) Bama had always been deep at ILB when Kirby Smart was recruiting for us (and relatively free from multiple injuries at the position as well); since he's been at UGA, he's continued to recruit well at ILB, taking several key recruits at that position that we targeted (ones that we were likely to get before). To compound things, another good former recruiter for Bama, Pruitt, has taken away a prized ILB recruit or two as well.

4) Not all recruits pan out...and for some recruits, the light bulb doesn't come on till a year or two later. Some of it may be coaching, some of it may be the players. Before you try to pin this all on Golding's coaching though, remember that Ben Davis was a 5-star ILB, #1 at his position when recruited. During his first two years at Bama, Jeremy Pruitt was the DC as well as his position coach...

Been posting since 2009, so yeah, this is probably right

Boz banned a guy for name calling on an Internet forum in 2019

Think about that for a second. fricking name calling. I don’t think junior high kids get in trouble for that anymore.

You should be banned for name calling and more than that, you should be ashamed for a lack of integrity. Most parents raise their kids with instruction on how to communicate with others with a little respect and dignity. This isn't junior high school.

It’s the Internet, calm down Gramps

Literally every other Auburn and LSU poster on this site is rocking a sig depicting our coach getting DP’d and y’all are over here getting all bent out of shape because someone said something mean

It’s fricking comical

I agree

3down10 is often pissy for no reason and thinks too highly of himself, but a 2 week ban is a little too much.

I'm not really sure why any folks over here or anywhere else like to confuse insult with a simple rebuttal. Unless it's all they got.

But you're right, the Rant is to civility what Animal House is to higher education.
