I don't think Najee can win the Heisman without some absolutely unreal games and a huge stat total in some category (at this point TDs appears to be the most likely).

But let's say he finishes the season with
Auburn - 165 and 2 TDs
Arkansas - 180 and 4 TDs
LSU - 155 and 2 TDs
Florida - 145 and 3 TDs

He's definitely getting an invite to New York, right? Especially with the sort of blah of candidates at the moment with Fields limited games and Sunshine's injury time missed?

I'm certain one Alabama player will get invited. Unless Mac has more pedestrian games like last night, Mac will be the Bama rep. Otherwise, Najee may get an invite.
Right now, it's so up in the air with so many players getting limited games.

That's why I feel like if Najee kind of takes over later he has a shot. #1 team, clearly the #1 running back by numbers, kind of different than all the other candidates.

Just could be interesting. This is about the time I feel like Derrick and Ingram's campaigns kind of took off (last 3-4 games).

ESPN and the media machine has already given it to Trask.

Nah, those things shift every weekend.

Tua was clearly gonna win the Heisman for 12 weeks and then all of a sudden he wasn't.

I still believe that was highway robbery. He got injured in a bloodbath against Georgia while Murray put up incredible stats against Big 12 teams. Najee is a freak and could be a dark horse if he goes off the last part of this season.

He may well be worthy but the Heisman is just about as political as it gets. Fields and Lawrence would have to completely stop playing and then it would be too close to call before they take a really fair look at Najee.

Coach Saban has taken Mac Jones out of so many games already, Missouri, Tennessee, Miss State, he didn't make all of the 3rd quarter against Kentucky. His stats are starting to lag because of it.

Does Fields play all game in the Ohio State blowouts?

He certainly didn't sit Saturday or the Penn state game. I saw the Rutgers game and the buckeyes were leading 49 to 27. Fields was in the game with 4 minutes left. Where would Mac have been?

He came out of the Nebraska game when it was 45-17 mid-way through the 4th. Other than that, they haven't really had any games that were total blowouts.

Penn State they was never more than 19 pts, and both times they pushed it to 18/19 pts PSU scored to get it back to 2 possessions.

Rutgers was 42-9, but then within 8 minutes, it was 42-21 with 13 mins left.

Indiana was obviously not a blow out.

So what you are trying to say is, if Alabama was beating Rutgers 49 to 27 in the middle of the 4th quarter and had the ball Mac Jones would be in the game looking for more?

Probably not, but they're in a unique situation with only a handful of games and reps and the possibility that some of those might get canceled (which they did the next week).

I think if we wanted to "get Mac the Heisman" we could probably greatly improve his odds with how we play in the red zone and how long he plays, but we just don't do that. And I'm definitely more than ok with it.

Trask is ahead of Mac Jones because he played one extra game. Teams is playing to prevent Jones from throwing deep ball a lot.. that's what hurts him. Mac just need to continue to be solid and Needs 2 300 yards game... and he at least will get invite to NY.

Najee... Just keep doing what he does the best.. rest will take care of itself.

IMO, Mac, Najee and Devonta needs to have a huge game against Auburn, arkansas and LSU to be seriously considered.

I have no respect for the Heisman so I guess I'm OK with it too. I'm just making a point about these so-called Heisman stats.

Oh I 100% agree

Just like with the Murray/Tua thing. Murray won the award solely because of volume stats which were solely because he played almost every down of the season because their defense was so bad.

Like you said, I just don't care all that much about the Heisman. I'd love for our guys to get it because I know how excited and life-changing it would be for them, but a lot of time the way we play just isn't going to be conducive to it.

Tua has a national championship ring. Something that Kyler dosen't have. I know which one I'd rather have.

So was Florida-LSU. They've both played 7 games.
