I hope everyone enjoys this group while we can. What many consider our third or fourth best WR just had a 5 TD game. I know there has been years where we have said we had the best RBs, OLine, DLine, LBs, DBs in America but never WR. What a time to be alive.

Imagine having Julio, Cooper, and Ridley on the same team. Then add a 4th.

The 2017 WR group could have been even better than now if we had a QB that could distribute the ball playing(Jalen improved his JR year but was a glorified RB his first two years).

Calvin Ridley
Robert Foster
Cam Sims
Jerry Jeudy
Henry Ruggs III
DeVonta Smith

I can say with confidence that this group of receivers is easily the best in Alabama history and it’s not even close. Any one of them would be the alpha dog in years past and a first rounder. Only we’ve got 4 of them on the field at the same time. Ole Miss chose to die on the “shut down Jerry Jeudy” Hill. DeVonta made sure it was a massacre.

I wish we’d send Jeudy down the field some. Seems like all his catches happen within 10 yards of the LOS - and many are happening behind the LOS. The guy is an elite route runner.

We’re not taking as many downfield shots in general this year compared to last.

We took a lot last game, but missed on most. Post game Tua said it was the sun in the WR eyes lol.

That and his two misses to Ruggs looked like they only happened because Ruggs couldn't run full speed with his injury.

My hope is that we are truly just going to take the path of least resistance on offense this year. If teams are going play soft we kill them with short catch and run stuff. If teams are going to press and take away the quick hitters, we throw it over their heads. If teams are going to play in nickle and dime to deal with all the receivers, we run it down their throat.

It might be hard for any Bama fan to take our pitch and catch game for granted, given our long and conservative history. But, whoever that QB is, that dude is throwing some of the tightest spirals I've ever seen.
