Congratulations to these boys for their historic seasons:

Class 1A
Mapleville - 42
Wadley - 22

Class 2A
Coosa Christian - 29
Lanett - 22

Class 3A
Mars Hill Bible - 38
Bayside Academy - 21

Class 4A
Jackson - 52
Anniston - 0

Class 5A
Moody - 25
Vigor - 0

Class 6A
Clay-Chalkville - 38
Saraland - 21

Class 7A
Thompson - 48
Opelika - 10

I think Thompson and Clay-Chalkville should do a +1 to figure out which one of them is truly the best high school football team in the state of Alabama. Both teams were dominant this year.

Anybody old enough to remember when Bigor was in one of the largest brackets and was a behemoth?

I remember back in late 60s Sidney Lanier and Robert E. Lee being dominant.

7A was not a needed expansion. Very minimal distinction between 6A and 7A.

Back in my day, the largest 6As just seemed massive relative to the rest.

I think enough coaches were bitching about Hoover and Prattville 15 years ago or so that they decided to create 7A.
