Only a matter of time before the County announces a similar shelter-in-place order, IMO.

Agree. Especially if the Birmingham City Council passes the one proposed for B’ham. That’ll only give Jeff Co a bigger push.

Horrible.
Karma will be paying visits to some of those people when they are elderly.

Some of the news once again didn't show the Lee Co. #'s today in their top counties for the virus slides. Same as yesterday.

They are tied for 3rd with 21 cases but weren't listed.

Yeah, I have been curious about the demographics of those infected there.

As a guidance, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a list of workers and businesses that they deem "essential" and should not be subject to shelter-in-place orders.

quote:

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) developed an initial list of “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” to help State and local officials as they work to protect their communities, while ensuring continuity of functions critical to public health and safety, as well as economic and national security. The list can also inform critical infrastructure community decision-making to determine the sectors, sub-sectors, segments, or critical functions that should continue normal operations, appropriately modified to account for Centers for Disease Control (CDC) workforce and customer protection guidance.

The attached list identifies workers who conduct a range of operations and services that are essential to continued critical infrastructure viability, including staffing operations centers, maintaining and repairing critical infrastructure, operating call centers, working construction, and performing management functions, among others. The industries they support represent, but are not necessarily limited to, medical and healthcare, telecommunications, information technology systems, defense, food and agriculture, transportation and logistics, energy, water and wastewater, law enforcement, and public work.

Accordingly, this list is advisory in nature. It is not, nor should it be considered to be, a federal directive or standard in and of itself.

Saw a article back in February, that China was burning bodies to keep the outside world from knowing the true death toll there.

It is a LOT higher then what they are reporting.

Came across this today and found it interesting. Who knows the truth?

Yep. Birmingham's won't have as much of an impact unless the county and surrounding communities step up along with them.

242 cases

1st case in Autauga County, which I believe just started testing today.

It won't have any impact at all no matter who adopts it. The folks that will heed the 'shelter in place' order are already heeding the other restrictions.

I’m surprised to see that, for such a big statewide increase from this morning to this afternoon, Jefferson only added 1 case.

The ADPH numbers are for the patient's county of residence, not where they were tested.

That request was understandable.

What about all the other nonsense they wanted?

Most of that other stuff was in Pelosi's plan she created that she was going to introduce if the senate could not come together.

Now she is saying they are going to introduce more bills after this now that it seems her tactics did not work and she is getting slammed by a lot of people for what she and her friends want to include that is not related to the virus.

The politics of this is sad but it is what it is and I guess she is trying to make it her legacy. I mean on Sunday got she got involved in the Senate negotiations even though not a Senator then said if they would not add certain things she would come up with a bill and then Monday produced a 1400+ page bill. She was waiting in the wing and now Trumps approval rating jumping up her and her friends are scrambling.

Is the order like most other states in the country. Where you can go out for essentials and exercise(like hiking trials and whatnot)?

Yes, you can still go out for groceries and essentials. More tha anything, it’s just a messaging thing that communicates the severity of the situation.
