Me and some friends are staying in Demopolis next Friday then driving into Tuscaloosa for the LSU game.

Any suggestions on a good place to eat in or around town? Any good places to grab some beers and watch football?

Thanks for your time

You'd be better off staying in Livingston and going to Diamond Jim's

I lived in Demopolis for a couple of years when I was a teenager. I'd suggest either McDonald's or the one-lane bowling alley/one-room movie theater that sells crappy pizza. Things may have changed since 1991.

It's been 3 years since I had to stay in Demopolis for work, but there were a couple of good options there:

The Red Barn was fine for a small town steakhouse. Nothing really amazing, but the food was solid enough for its price. Red Barn at Yelp

If you don't mind spending a little more money, then I would recommend the Foscue House. Had a better ambiance than the Red Barn, and is a much more unique dining experience than the Red Barn. Foscue House at Trip Advisor

As the poster above stated Red Barn and Foscue House are your best dining options. There may still be a restaurant at the marina. Don't know much about the bar scene but I think there's a bar above the Red Barn.

Seems like the last time I passed through Demopolis on the way to Eutaw, there was still a restaurant at the marina off of 43 heading to Eutaw.

Thanks for the replies. The marina restaurant is called New Orleans Bar and Grill. I might check it out after dinner.

It looks like a decent option.

Apparently there's a nice sports bar right down from our hotel - Batter Up Sports Bar. Probably doesn't have the atmosphere as the marina bar though
