Unfortunately, the SEC has sucked in the bowl games. Tx, besides the playoff teams, is the only winner. While the Miami win gives me some hope, the SEC losing as they have dampens it.

I’m not sure why they were so heavily favored in the playoffs.

Because they had easily the best roster.

They just couldn’t or wouldn’t throw vertically so they negated their advantage at WR offensively and Miami ended up being better at the LOS which very few people expected.

My takeaway was that Miami is an inconsistent team whose A game is as good as anyone in the country.

They were actually #3 in the 247 Talent Composite rankings this year behind only Georgia and Alabama.

Sure and that measures recruiting rankings and is a fair way to look at things from an overall roster standpoint at the time the games are played.

But if you were to measure these teams in two years based on NFL draft picks playing/starting I would bet that Ohio State had the most game ready NFL talent in the nation and that it wasn’t even that close.

Most of the mock drafts have them sitting at 5-6 1st round guys for this year with multiple other high 1st rounders who aren’t draft eligible yet whereas the rest of the field has 1-3 on average.

That said Indiana clearly has the least overall team talent and depth but is the odds on favorite to win the whole thing at this point so obviously it’s not just a contest to see who can get the most players drafted, but it sure helps.

Because they’re the defending champs, went undefeated in the regular season (cream puff schedule was ignored), and they have more top tier NFL draft prospects compared to anyone else. I doubt they’ll actually have 4 guys drafted top 15 but that’s what’s projected right now

And of course they’re THE Ohio State

The only bright spot on their team last night was Jeremiah Smith. He’s a freak as we all know. Their defense is very solid. But their running backs are average compared to what they had last year when they had Henderson and Judkins.

OSU's oline was awful when they played teams with some actual talent.
