Our 3 point shooting percentage is concerning. When you aren't making them, it is absolutely imperative to get second chance points, and nights like last night are going to happen on the offensive glass. It's certainly a skill, but like creating turnovers in football there are some variables that go into offensive rebounding. A team that wants to shoot 40+ 3's per game needs to be good at making them. We aren't right now. The Wrightsell loss seems like it is bigger than I anticipated it being.
I agree.
3 point shooting has been my biggest concern from the beginning when it became clear that Grant was shooting worse and Jarin nor the freshmen Philon or Reid were going to shoot over 30%.
Not everyone can do what Ole Miss did defensively. They straight up directed us where to drive to and covered the passing options for those angles.
But, yeah, they did it by leaving space for the shooters aside from Sears and they best way to get them out of that was not shoot 28% from the arc.
We played sloppy and bad but a lot of it was trying to make the exact passes they were trying to coax us into trying!
Add that they "hard hatted" us to death on the boards and it was definitely ugly.
But, the weak link that set it all off was daring us to make even the college average % of shots from the perimeter.

Yep. It was like they presented a riddle to us and we never got any closer to a solution the entire 40 minutes, in fact we actually appeared to get worse. I thought the ultimate 4d chess move was when they told us you guys can not play either one of your Centers and our Center is going to straight career you.

quick hijack but didn't want to start a new thread..does anyone have any clue why the only game on our schedule that doesn't have a start time is the Saturday game in Tuscaloosa against UGA? Have some friends that want to go but for some reason that's the only one without a start time.

Woof.
I'd like to start by saying that was just a flippant comment, and not real analysis. I hadn't watched a minute of ole miss before last night.
And I'd like to end with saying I'm a dumbass and Bama played like shite.

I predicted ribeyes and blowjobs. Turns out it was shoulder roast and rimjobs.
