If what Dallas Warmack said was correct, our oline still blows chunks.

What did he say? Must have missed that.

"I feel a little less concerned because I watched their spring practice, and overall their O-line didn't look too good," Warmack said. "Coach Cristobal said there's a need on the O.line still."

The only consolation is that he wasnt at the scrimmage. He just attended practice.
Or I'm just going to put my homer hat on and say that we will have the best dline of the CNS era

"We're making steady improvement. We have three starters back that are all very capable guys,' Saban said. "Leon Brown has played in the bowl game and we have a lot of confidence in him and I think he's probably a guy that'll be in the best five guys."

We just need to get Dom Jackson on campus. Then all will be well with our oline.
Or at least that is what I keep telling myself.
I'd like to see:
LT- Brandon Greene (until Cam Rob is ready)
LG- Grant Hill
C- Kelly
RG- Dom Jackson
RT- Shepherd

Best position coach Saban has had coaching that position with what I would say appears to be the best combination of talent we've seen
I've also had more than one person tell me that Jarran Reed is a 1 - 2 year Josh Chapman implant and DJ Pettway came back as a pass rushing beast
I'm very pleased with what I've heard so far on the DL

Dom Jackson is too damn tall and svelte to play guard IMO.
My ideal lineup from left to right 2 deep
Jackson- Robinson
Hill- Koundjio
Kelly- ?
Brown- Taylor
Shephard- Greene

About the QB situation. Bateman is making some moves and doing good enough for Coach to speak of his name down here in Mobile last night. Seems like it is down to Bateman/Sims/Coker.

he says that he prefers guard, and that he was a little too light last season. Also said he is a big DJ Fluker fan and wants to be just like him.

-- Injured cornerback Eddie Jackson crutched to a car parked outside the football complex before practice. He had a brace on his injured knee.
-- Taking a look at the quarterbacks, they worked on the deep ball again for a little bit. Blake Sims looked to be leading receivers the best with his passes. He had nice touch on one pass to the corner of the end zone that traveled approximately 40-45 yards.
-- Cooper Bateman and Alec Morris also had a few good balls in the group as receivers had to break stride only a few times. The accuracy overall in the group appears to have improved on the deep passes from earlier in the spring.
-- Coach Nick Saban spoke highly of Sims and Bateman on Tuesday in Mobile.
-- At left tackle, Brandon Greene was working with the first group followed by freshman Cam Robinson.
-- Back at right tackle again was Austin Shepherd along with Grant Hill.
-- Middle linebacker Reuben Foster continued to work toward the back of the line with his stinger injury. Reggie Ragland was with the first group next to Trey DePriest.
-- When putting the full linebacker/secondary groupings out there in nickel formation, the first group didn't change from Monday's practice.
-- Freshman Tony Brown was with the second-team at cornerback along with Anthony Averett. Dillon Lee and Reuben Foster were middle linebackers with Nick Perry and Jabriel Washington at safety and Maurice Smith at Star.
-- The defensive line continues to work with Jarran Reed and A'Shawn Robinson at ends with Brandon Ivory at nose. Dalvin Tomlinson and D.J. Pettway were in the second group at ends and Dakota Ball at nose.

Saban: Eddie Jackson's surgery went well, and we feel good about getting him back for the season.
Saban: "Alabama is supposed to be a tough, physical team … we lost some of that at the end of last year."
Saban: Tosh Lupoi will be an intern for Alabama.
Saban: Tyler Siskey took Kevin Steele's place. Tosh Lupoi will do that from an intern standpoint.
Saban said Brandon Greene is in competition with Cam Robinson at left tackle.
Very high on OJ Howard, working to improve his blocking and improving that part of his game.
Gotta work all over to reestablish an identity and it's tough. Felt it was lost at the end of last season.
Going on a rant about what the players look like "on paper". Never won a game on paper..
Dee Liner has made progress, competing to work with the 2's right now.
Saban also said they started working on some looks from next season's opponents in spring practice.
Cam Robinson "gets better and better every day" at left tackle with Brandon Greene working with the first group.
Derrick Henry "is having a fabulous spring." Saban likes his attention to detail.
And that's that.

So EJ will be ready for the start of the season or sometime during the season?
Posted on 4/9/14 at 6:26 pm to ILoveLamp
It's kinda open. It'd be nice if he was able to be back at fall practice or back within the first couple of games.
Posted on 4/9/14 at 6:43 pm to ILoveLamp
I seriously doubt that he will be by by the beginning of the season, or even the middle.
