I thought he looked good though I didn't see too much of the OL or DL since they were working across the field from where I was sitting

How did ArDarius Stewart look? He's gotten massive too from pics
Posted on 8/5/13 at 9:17 am to BuccWildBammer
He was bigger than I thought. He had several drops during drills and I was thinking "future safety" but he was targeted a lot in 7on and 11on and looked good. Morris' best pass of the day was a deep TD pass to him.

Well the Fanning to TE news is shocking to me.....He was alteast in the 2 Deep in my mind. Is there a chance he plays both ways?

I wouldn't think so. Could just be a looksee while Faciane is suspended. Have to wait and see

Is Arie still having knee issues? Or is Williams simply moving past him on that thing we dare not call a depth chart?

Arie should start long side his borther Cyrus

Not that I could tell. He "ran" sprints at the end of practice. He and Brandon Hill were usually the slowest ones.

I think the position battle was never as settled as we thought it was during spring practice. And FTR, Arie worked with the 1s more throughout the practice than Kellen did. But I think it's still a battle.

And I'll join in on more of the questioning. How was DePriest looking out there? I believe it said somewhere that he gave Fanning a nice pop, but other than that didn't see much. Could you tell he trimmed down?

To be honest, I never noticed Grant Hill. Didn't watch 2nd or 3rd OL groups at all.
DePriest was moving around fairly well. Looked about the same size as last year to me. I don't think this type of setting (shorts and shoulder pads with a lot of focus on coverage) is the best for showcasing his strengths. That's what surprised me about Reuben. I expected him to be somewhat out of his element but he was really moving well.

What we saw
•Junior Arie Kouandjio is working at left guard with the first-team offensive line. On Sunday, senior Kellen Williams was in that spot. Remember: There is no depth chart. When we tell you who is where on a given day, don’t read too much into it. What we read is that this still is a competitive spot.
•Nobody (except quarterbacks, of course) is wearing a black non-contact jersey, but there were some small casualties from Sunday’s “Fan Day” practice. Senior cornerback Deion Belue (left hamstring) isn’t participating in drills with other defensive backs.
•Junior defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan (left knee) is participating in some drills and observing some others.
•Despite looking uncomfortable with wrapping around his left hand, freshman Reuben Foster seems to be participating fully in drills with other inside linebackers. He appeared to injure a middle finger or two Sunday. He is getting some serious attention from defensive coordinator and position coach Kirby Smart.
•With long hair and a beard, sophomore outside linebacker Dillon Lee looks hot when he takes his helmet off. Of course, nobody is cool out there.
•ArDarius Stewart, who seems a bit overshadowed by two other freshman wide receivers (Robert Foster and Raheem Falkins, the star of Sunday’s practice), made an exceptional one-handed catch on a pass that was thrown behind him. No need to identify the guilty quarterback.
•Head coach Nick Saban seems a little more agitated than previous practices. Chances are he’s correcting players who aren’t learning from mistakes.
The Tide will practice once on Tuesday and then twice on Wednesday, the first of four true two-a-days
After practice Tuesday, coach Nick Saban and a few players will be available to members of the news media

Did anyone get a look at Tim Williams yesterday? I saw a pic of him and he looks bigger than I remember. I'm excited about his potential at Jack.

I know we've all been drooling over the pics of the freshmen, but has anyone else seen the pics of LaMichael Fanning? He looks like he is carved out of stone. No human being is supposed to be that ripped at 6'7" 275 pounds.
