Travis Reier said in the the thread that Grant's bosses feel the same way, and that CAG is locked in for another year regardless of how this season ends.

I hope the administration has learned a hard lesson about buyouts.
I can almost predict how it will go. Grant will somehow pull out an invitation to the NIT next year, and he will get yet another year.

His buyout is less then remaining years on contract. A lot less. What is your suggestion then on a contract. Pay him1_9.mill for 4 years or buyout

Can anybody who's watched the last couple games tell me what has gotten into Levi?
Posted on 3/2/14 at 8:06 pm to yellowhammer2098
blasé mentality that has led to confidence

He's been capable of this all along, but he hasn't had a coach that could get it out of him. Either Grant finally got around to motivating him, or he's decided enough is enough and has taken it upon himself.

It's not like motivation is what he's been lacking. The kid has been balls to the wall since he's been here. He's been lacking confidence, and you can only do so much as a coach to fix that. Most of the things that are wrong with this team are on Grant, but I don't consider Levi's troubles one of them.

He got several quick and easy buckets to start the Mizzou game and he gained confidence throughout that game and it looks like it carried over into the next two games as well. Confidence has always been his problem.

Sadly grant is here for another year guys ..
If the fans don't give a damn about the program why should the AD?

Because the fans do give a damn. There are a lot of fans who really love and care about the program. Unfortunately, the AD will leave them in the dust because they don't want to bother with a basketball coaching search.

U wrong. Lots of things go into an ad.s decision n just cuz he isn't listening to u does not mean he isn't listening to empty seats etc

Alabama has a history of giving basketball coaches too long of a leash. Hobbs got a year more than he deserved, Gottfried did as well, so will Grant.

K. Doesn't mean they not listening. Fans want things now. Ad sees big pic as well. I agree he should be gone

Disagree 100%. It's on the coach. Whether you call it "motivation" or "confidence", either way, it's up to the coach to give the players what they need to get the most out of their ability.

It's largely grant's fault. They aren't confident because of how he pulls guys out of the game. If anyone misses a shot in the first half of the shot clock they get a death look from their coach. Our offense rarely leads to open looks for our guys so it is hard to get rolling out there.

I've never seen him do either of those things. In fact he's said that he wants them to shoot all the open shots they've been passing on. This myth has been blown to hell the past few seasons. Cooper use to launch brick after brick last season and he was rarely found on the bench.

I just wish we could sign a competent post player to rebound.
Posted on 3/4/14 at 10:09 pm to Bryant91092
sign one, develop one, or put what he has in better positions to succeed. All or at least one of the three would be nice.
They obviously can't rebound in zone, and sure as hell can't cover perimeter in zone. Solution- play zone 100% of the time.

I actually liked the zone today. Zones frustrate the hell out of young players. We play man today, we would've gotten ran out of the gym.
